Very nice location for enjoying good wine and food. Very good and friendly service. It's definitely worth to visit this place while you are in Évora.

“Very Special Food and Service”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

Having just arrived in Evora, looking for a wifi and a light lunch, we spotted Pateo. We ordered a lovely fresh salad and a starter with tomatos and soft cheese -- both particularly welcomed on a hot day. The red wine was very good and the strawberry cheesecake irresistable. But even more impressive were the extremely friendly and helpful young people who run Pateo -- they took time to point out places of interest on the map and to give recommendations. They could not have been more charming! Just the kind of welcome you really appreciate when wandering into a new town. Highly recommened. And the wifi works great!

“An Oasis off the beaten path”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

After an exhausting morning of walking all over Evora - we were looking for a place to rest and grab a bite and stumbled onto Pateo - it's off an alley on the street that runs between the cathedral and the main square. Isabel our waitress was a delight and Jorge the owner of the restaurant was quite a character - he spent a while chatting with us and telling us what we should see and do. The food was tasty - we stuck mainly to salad and tapas and Isabel made some great recommendations. We really enjoyed our meal (we went back the next day - so it must have been pretty good). A great place to get a bite and relax.

“Good food, lovely atmosphere, inconsistent but friendly service”
Reviewed June 30, 2013

Good food, lovely atmosphere, inconsistent but friendly service. The owner was friendly and took our order himself. He was a bit overbearing at times, but made good recommendations on what to choose. After we got our main course, we were sort of ignored by the owner (who was still circulating among other patrons). The waiter who took care of the bill, Joao, was very nice and gave us a complimentary drink at the end.
