“Fun place to eat!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

We ate outside, in a little street away from the main square. We shared a large dish of huge prawns, which were beautifully prepared. The vino verde was a delight. The only issue? They ran out of olives!!

“A Must Go Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2014

If you´re in Alentejo you need to try Alentejo typical food, and you will do just that at "1/4 para as 9".

For Starters ask an Alentejano Cheese, olives and bread, that´s enough.

For Main courses:
You have to ask for the Typical Dogfish Soup, which is a Main Course, don´t be mistaken by it´s name.
It´s served with bread, lots of coriander and of course dogfish, you will love it.

You can also go to the typical Purslane Soup with cheese and egg, which is wonderful, although a little bit stronger than the Dogfish soup.

Do choose a good red wine, you are in the region of the best red wines in the world.

For Dessert go for the "Cericais garnished with a little prune and prune jelly" - The cake itself it´s not sweet, but the prune is, so you´ll have the perfect balance.

“good kitchen”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014

The restaurant with a terrace is in a narrow street in the centre of Evora. We had a table outside on the terrace. I guess the staff was tired, because we didn't notice any of the friendliness often quoted in other reviews. Service was simply ok, without much enthousiasm. But the food was good: nice fish and very good squid. We drank a very nice, cool local white wine.

“Food is good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

Food was good and also the wine list. We tried seafood meal similar to the Spanish paella, was very delicious. People go there only to eat well and fast so don't expect any charm, the place is somehow cold and the light is also cold, it's small and noisy. We ate there only once.

“Really enjoyed this restaurant.”

Local cuisine at its best. Tried the Tamboril com Arroz and really liked it. They suggested a local white wine which was excellent. Great bargain.
