The winding aqueduct was the core feature of Evora. It was not only picturesque, but it also provided a sense of being back in time.

Houses and shops have been built into the structure of the aquaduct. Worth a visit. The area has a nice community feel to it.

According to our guide Luis, August is not the best month to visit, it's too dry. Should be there in Spring, much better

While driving around the ring road that surrounds the walled city of Evora, we suddenly saw the aqueduct. It was larger and more impressive than I expected. The modern road goes right under the arches of the Roman Aqueduct.

Although this is not an attraction you 'go into' you absolutely must stop and amaze at the structure. Built because the town was running out of water the aqueduct is three stories high and extends over 5 km. It is like no other I have seen.
