This spacious pleasant hotel faces the town walls on the west side, and is thus only 5-10 minutes walk from the main square - Placa Giraldo. Spacious lobby area (with free wi-fi in the lobby only) and attractive decor - mix of traditional and modern. A spacious bar and separate dining/breakfast room, with outside seating and swimming pool in attractive secluded small garden area. Buffet breakdfast was good.
The bedroom we had was spacious and well furnished, with a spectacular marble bathroom - though care needed with the shower, more likely to flood the floor than cover you!!
We were only here one night, but enjoyed the stay, the staff were pleasant and helpful and a relaxed atmosphere. Would certainly stay here again if in Evora.

We stayed for 5 nights last week.We know and stayed at the other 2 great hotels in Évora (Convento do Espinheiro, e Mar de Ar Aqueduto), and this one beats these 2 in many ways.Althoug its only 4 Stars(the other 2 are 5 stars), Muralhas as the best Pool,The breakfast is almost as good(note that we are talking of great breakfasts) ,the Hotel itself is more funcional, and is the neariest to the center of the city(5 min walk to Giraldo square - Aqueduto is 10 min,and Convento is outside the town only get there by car).

Chose a superior room with viem to the walls.

Magic hotel,Magic city, total relax and a great price 70€/night,make this the best choice in Évora.By far!

Just returned from a few days at this hotel and I cannot praise it highly enough. While the bedrooms are pleasant rather than spectacular, with the bathrooms a little shabby, the public areas are lovely. We also had a superior room with a brilliant terrace overlooking the pool where we could lie at night and watch the stars come up and the pool waters change colour. Pool facilities were just terrific and totally essential when the temperature was hitting 40. But the real coup de grace of the hotel was the staff from the reception (take note Clarion Suites Lisbon) to the restaurant to the room staff etc. everyone was friendly, efficient and devoted to making out stay as pleasant as possible. Thanks to you all. And if you are in Evora can I recommend the Mr Pickwick restaurant just off the main square on the road to the Cathedral and Temple. Local dishes were delicious and very reasonably priced. And again nice people.

Room Tip: Pay extra for a superior room with terrace.

Everyone should experience Portugal at least once in their lives and hopefully be lucky enough to experience an elegant, relaxing, four star hotel like The M'Ar De AR Muralhas in Evora. It is a calm oasis in the midst of an historic walled town. The hotel is painted white and has lovely grounds and a beautiful pool. The building has been restored and is very nicely decorated and has large, high-ceilinged rooms. The bathrooms are well-appointed with lots of hot water and towels and toiletries as well as the ever-present bidet. The beds are comfortable and there was a large French door in our room opening onto a small balcony overlooking the garden. There was plenty of closet space and a safe for valuables as well as a desk and chair. It was peaceful and quiet for sleeping. (The hotel is air conditioned also.) The hotel restaurant, where we had dinner and a buffet breakfast, continues the white theme and the food and service were exceptional. There is also an intimate bar with a patio facing the pool where the attendants will serve drinks and light food. You can walk out the door and explore the old town of Evora and all its attractions. My only wish was that in the middle of a busy tour of Portugal that we could have stayed longer at the M'AR De AR hotel. It was well-worth the money and I would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the garden are quiet and have a lovely view.

The white hotel is situated near the city walls of Evora. It is a quiet area, though in the middle of the town.

The rooms were large enough, and there was a small fridge.

And a bidet. All the hotels in Portugal seem to have a bidet.

Not too many towels, not too many toiletries (don't forget to bring your own when in Portugal !).

Very pleasant room with a window looking out on the swimming pool and the walls.

Manicured lawn.

WiFi is available for free in the commons, but I could not get it to work.

The restaurant was spotless, round tables and long white tablecloths.

Perfect service.

Food was so-so.

Breakfast was a generous buffet with all you would want.

Personnel is helpful.

All in all, a very good experience.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip and found it too bad that there was no spare time to take advantage of the ssmingly nice features of this hotel.
The swimming pool in the garden at the back looked quite good and having (great quality) breakfast in the terrace nearby was quite pleasant.
The building is old and refurbished with some well kept features of its original design. Comfortable beds and a large flat screen TV were good features in the room. This seems also a good option to bring children as it has this nice garden with considerable grassed area for them to play. Location is good, within a short walk of the central Giraldo square.
Would definitely consider staying here in the future.

We only stayed one night, but found this to be a very pleasant hotel. It was bright in the rooms and we had a nice view of the pool and the wall around the city. The room was a very good size and clean. It is within walking distance to most all of the attractions and shopping in Evora. Very nice.

Room Tip: A nice room with a view of the pool and gardens
