Owner description: ÉvorAdvenTour organizes trike guided tours through the center of Évora and the surrounding bike paths and trails. It is an innovative and fun way of enjoying nature or visiting a variety of monuments while doing some healthy exercise. The trike is just like a normal bicycle but with three wheels and a comfortable reclined seat that gives you a different perspective while pedaling. It is a fun and ecological new experience.

“Pedro Knows Evora”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

We didn't take the bike tour, we discovered it too late. But Pedro gave us a tour of the palace and talked some about Evora. He's a delightful guy and able to discuss Evora history in a clear, interesting and realistic way.

“Evora bike tour with Pedro (at EvorAdvenTour)”
Reviewed July 5, 2012

My wife and I were strolling near our hotel in Evora, Portugal and came across Pedro Lino, owner/operator of EvorAdvenTour.com (http://www.evoradventour.com). He was relaxing atop one of his high-end German recumbent trikes and we struck up a conversation. Pedro is interested in "green" initiatives, including recycling, as well as environmentally friendly tourism.

We settled into our very comfortable trike seats and headed out to explore Evora in a "laid-back" way. What amazing fun! We are both cyclists but have never experienced the relaxed ride that recumbents (with suspension) offer. Even without Pedro's very informative commentary as we toured Evora, the unique experience of these trikes would have been worth the money and time we spent. (* I've just posted a short video featuring snippets of our ride on Youtube at http://youtu.be/Q0EEdfiJbBI).

In addition to giving us some valuable insight into the broader local area, Pedro offered a private tour of the “Palace of the Counts of Pontalegre.” This noble home is mostly-vacant these days; the descendants of the original prominent family no longer live in the mansion, however Pedro gets to park his trikes in what was formerly its vestry. Ask him if you can extend your tour to include the palace (it's currently up for sale, so a palace visit may not be possible in the future) - you won't regret it! You'll get to see some fascinating heirlooms and maybe even a provocative work of art ... (Clue: Google "examples of Caritas Romana painting"). The view of Evora from the rooftop is also wonderful.

With or without the optional visit to the palace, the trike tour is exceptional and highly recommended!

“A wonderful and innovative way to explore the city”
Reviewed August 31, 2011

I recently decided, along with my wife and children, that a trip to Portugal was in order. We wanted to explore the Portuguese ancient architecture and its fine dining. After exploring Lisbon, we were reading about Évora was a world heritage in our guidebooks, and our minds were set.

I didn't know what to expect when I read the flyers for ÉvorAdvenTour at the Hotel we were staying in, but the kids were anxious to give their tours a go, and I have to say, it was one of the most fun activities we had the chance to partake in. Customer service was quick and very informative, they knew exactly where to take us and what to show us, knew their history and best routes to get, well, anywhere in the city, and they were as friendly as we had already expected the Portuguese to be. There were four of us, so we rented four trikes. The guide was always with us, explaining where we were each step of the way, the best places for dining and sight-seeing, a little bit of the town's history, you name it. Plus, the vehicles are comfortable and extremely easy to maneuver, whether you're a child or an adult. My wife has never ridden a bike her entire life, and absolutely loved the experience.

A definite must for any visitor seeking adventure or just a nice tour through the Alentejo countryside. Both me, my wife and the kids give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Have fun!
