We had a wonderful couple of nights stay in the Imani Country House in Evora - fabulous decor, Hermes bathroom products, warm welcome, landscaped gardens, and wood burner in our room. Sarah who greeted us on arrival made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, she was attentive and helpful and the music and atmosphere was perfect for relaxing. The artwork and objects collected around the property by the owners are stylish and the whole place has a lovely boutique feel. We had a suite, which was light, large and lovely and we enjoyed the peace and quiet, with all the amenities of Evora a very short drive away.

I've liked everything!
I've spend two fantastic nights with my wife - marriage anniversary :-)
All around you only feel peace, meaning you do not hear any noise. Well, the sheep's and their bells can be noticed. Employees are 5 *.

I also enjoyed the fact that the breakfast is served between 09:30 am and 12.00, something very unusual but perfect for this place - in my opinion. You enough time to sleep, a bit more, without unhurriedly.

Two pools, one quite small and isolated (honeymoon, I would say) and the other enough to accommodate the persons from 7 rooms (well, 6 if someone takes the small pool).

The bar called "Honest Bar" is cool, you serve yourself and leave your consumption in a paper. You have "matraquilhos" (sorry don't know the English term) to end the afternoon and after you can have dinner in a very smooth atmosphere. If other don't complain you can even choose the music to listen.

What to know more? Go there and check by yourselves.

I'll be back, certainly, but next time I'm trying with the kids. Let's see my review than :-)

Beautiful grounds, architecturally interesting room, comfy bed and best of all, Sarah, the manager who was available 24/7 with a big smile, always ready to make a recommendation or a reservation or just tell you about the area and what Portugal has to offer. Breakfast was good (fruit, meats, cheese, yogurt) but we were there during the week so did not have a chance to eat dinner at the Amani. The Megaliths are nearby, as is Evora. Our only suggestion is for the rooms to have coffee pots, especially since breakfast is not served until 9:30a.m! Afterall, the rooms do have a stocked mini bar with cheese and crackers.

Room Tip: WE had the larger, end room. I think it was a junior suite. I'm a very light sleeper and was a b...

What good taste! A mix of rustic and design makes a genuine "monte alentejano" a most pleasant hideaway for a peaceful retreat.
The beds could be slightly softer and I was not lucky to have tried the restaurant as the "chef" did not make it the weekend I was there. But still I cannot but praise the place and the people there.
Lovely main pool. The second pool is a bit small and shallow but still makes a lovely spot around the estate.
The bar/terrace is delightfully comfortable with a sweet hammock for the long afternoon naps in the heat.
Many thanks for a lovely few days!

No doubt about it, this is a beautiful and unique place. We recently spent 5 days at the
Imani with our two small children. After the hecticness and noise of our hectic urban life this hotel offered a much needed respite, with only the noise of nature and the two donkeys! We enjoyed waking up smelling the pine trees and walking out to green on all sides. The place is simply stunning, well renovated and very well decorated with all sorts of quirky details!

The hotel only has a few rooms, and two pools. It has a limited lunch menu of salads and wraps, quiet average actually. The staff is great however and will recommend and book restaurants for you in the evening. Breakfast is included, and again OK...nothing overwhelming with all products (including the croissants, i.e. not fresh) from the discount supermaket Liedl (I recognised the brands).

What spoiled the experience for us was the fact that the owners who live on-site for part of the time - and use the hotel areas, including the pool - do not seem to take any interest in their guests. I have no problem with seeing them out and about but they need to make sure to speak to their guests. For Instance, on the last day I saw the owner as I was leaving our room....I was amazed at the fact that he did not offer his help with the luggage or enquire after our stay! They made us feel
Iike we were imposing in "their" house (we were the only guests at the time). This attitude spoilt the experience for us...Oh and we also found an old Penthouse under the bed which makes you wonder how well they clean!

Imani Country House is a jewel, an unexpected corner of Paradise in the inner Portugal, very close to the magic city of Evora.
Everything at Imani is simply 'perfect', starting from the welcome (at the reception they speak a very good english, quite unusual thing in Portugal) up to the rooms, where every single detail is clearly the result of an accurate choice, driven by an undisputable 'taste' and sense of beauty.
Breakfast and lunch are served in a living room where again you can breath the tradition of that place, that used to be a fram in the past.
the only 'risk' is that you go there to stay one day and one night, but then you would like to spend the rest of your holidays there!
