Beautiful square. Nice place to hide from sun or rain:). You can find free WiFi here! There are many places to visit around. Restaurants, cafeterias, snack bars, etc.

This Fountain, commissioned by Cardinal D. Henrique (16th century), is one of the city's landmarks.
A must see.

This is the main square of Evora with resturants and lots of roads leading off it with shops and resturants. We found that we ended up coming back here during our unorgansied wander through the beautiful streets in Evora.

A great square to see, walk and have a drink at some coffees around! Lot's of shops also in this area. It's the center of Évora center!

This square has a lot of history – do look it up – it has a violent past (it was named after Gerald the Fearless, a national hero, it was the spot of executions by the Spanish Inquisition and a King was killed there too – it’s has very “passionate” past!!). It is the main square of Évora where you can sit, relax and watch the day to day life of the locals, while sipping a drink or having a bite in one of the many open air cafes and restaurants around. There’s a beautiful church at one end of the square (Igreja de Santo Antão) and a gothic architectural legacy around.

If you visit Évora during the hot summer months and sit in Praça do Giraldo during the afternoon, believe me, you’ll want to find a shade!
