Cave made with bones and skulls in the center of lovely Evora, for sure not for little ones, may depress you somehow, but it is unusual place. You need 15 minutes to see everything

This was a very strange experience seeing all of the bones and skulls looking back at you
There were also 2 mummified bodies in glass cases
Easy to visit, with many explanations of the history of the place! The Cathedral next door had pipe organ concert practice while we were there. Extra treat!
The idea of "reminding" fellow monks of the transitory nature of life by decorating the internal walls with thousands of skeletons from a relocating cemetery is quite something. Hard to keep reminding yourself that these are not facsimiles, but were once living people.
Good for an introspective moment in your life, without becoming too maudlin.
This place is very interesting. Good to know how and why this place was built. To remember everyone how life is short and we get all the same destiny. There is a museum and a church attached. Be sure to visit all of them.
It is very fascinating to look at all the human bones and make yourself aware that these were actual humans who once walked the earth.
