This place is a small typical Portuguese restaurant in some of the quieter streets of Evora. What’s special here is that you don’t have to order anything from a menu, rather you get served what’s available at the moment, meaning the appetizers, entrance, main course, dessert and even the wines are just placed on your table for you to enjoy. The food itself is nothing fancy or refined, but plain and honest Portuguese cuisine, which of course is very nice! The owner is a friendly person and the place offers a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere for lunch or dinner. Good value for your money. If we ever get back to Evora, we would certainly come back here.

If you want to have second grade food then go to the No.2 restaurant in Evora. It is OK, but very gimmicky. It is 25 Euros per person, that is the best part of it. First class food is server in the No. 1 restaurant in Evora.

Just went there for dinner.
We are French and our Portuguese comes down to "Obrigado" really, and not a word was uttered in English or French was uttered during dinner. We do our best to avoid touristy places and tonight I think we were the only non-Portuguese guests even though we / everybody was treated the same way regardless of their origin. And as previously stated on TA, no menu here, everybody enjoys the same dinner.
In about 90 minutes Ze (the owner) brought us 1) pork sausages in thin slices 2) melted cheese with bread 3) baked mushroom with olive oil, all part of a string of starters... Then 4) mashed spinach with cream 5) beef ragout with potatoes 6) orange zested rice 7) double cakes 8) cherries 9) Porto (2 glasses, twice) 10) Coffees.
And all through dinner a bottle of house wine, i.e. not any wine called "house wine" but litterally Ze's own wine, with his picture on the label made exclusively for Quarta Feira. A bottle of water too.
All this for 25€ pp.
We have eaten in some wonderful places here in Portugal but this was the best meat dish in a long time. The cheese starter was great too and the wine was much better than the "house wine" label might imply. The spinach was also delicious. The dessert was too sweet to my taste but the port and coffee more than made up for it.
Ze was lovely even though we weren't able to really communicate with words...
Great place, cozy atmosphere, awesome food.
If you're in town, just go. If you're looking for a healthy light lunch before that or the next day, don't miss Salsa Verde, totally different but unbelievably good too!

You sit down and a jolly man brings you plate after plate of delicious food (some rustic, some fairly refined). Wine/liqueur appears to be unlimited. What could be better?

My wife and I ate here and it was the best meal we had during our 2 weeks in Portugal. The menu is a fixed multi-course meal with wine and port. The food was excellent during every course and the wine was good too. The black pork was incredible and cooked to perfection.

Service was excellent. The waiter is a very personable character. Even though I could not understand most of what he said, he managed to charm everybody in the room. What was extremely nice was that they kept the courses moving without you feeling rushed. In other comparable restaurants in Portugal, I sometimes had to wait 90 - 120 minutes to get my entree. Here, I could take as long as I wanted with each course and when I was finished, they took my plates away and brought the next course.

You definitely want to make a reservation here since it was booked solid on the weekday night we stopped by. The price was 25 Euros a person, which included food and drink. This price was extremely reasonable for what you receive.
