Don't be misled by the Cafe name. This is a proper restaurant, with nice ambiance and a menu which is strong on Portuguese specialties. Its location, just off Praça do Giraldo makes it very convenient. It gets quite busy, so I recommend reserving, even if you just call at 6 to reserve for that evening. We shared the roast pepper first course, followed by duck rice and roast pork with coriander sauce. Both very flavourful, although somewhat oversalted to my taste. ( A common thing in Portugal). Service was friendly although a bit rushed. Our waiter took the time to explain a few of the Portuguese words that were new to me. The final bill was very reasonable, considering the quality of the meal.

We had Padron peppers (better in Spain), lamb steak (very good), good bacalhau, and scrambled eggs with asparagus. Very dark red wine. This place was fine, quite a few tourists, but some locals too. Helpful staff.

Very cute spot for lunch. We decided to have lunch here as part of recommendation by our guide. The place is unpretentious and offers a verity of traditional dishes. The soup with egg and a hint of olives was delicious. I also had pork sausage, with strong smoky flavor and rich color. I would strongly recommend this place. They accept credit cards.

Very good value, food good large portions, was going to order 2 dishes the waiter told us only order one as the portions were large he was right. Service a bit slow, but the food makes up for it. We'll worth trying. Also open Sunday night!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the desk clerk at our hotel. It was excellent; our waiter made several worthwhile suggestions which we appreciated. The food (duck rice) was delicous and filling. We enjoyed sharing a dessert. I would definitely go back.
