A lovely place, great food and an unforgettable 4-hours talking with Domingos, the owner. But be prepared, as they only have place for 9 people, don't accept reservations and open at 7 pm for dinner. We arrived at 6h15 and I stuck at the door like a football quarterback. In 10 minutes we were 8 people standing there. At 7 pm sharp Domingos opened the restaurant. And yes, everybody has to sit at the counter as there are no tables. But as soon as you start eating or chating with Domingos you will forget all this and in a short while you will feel like at home. We followed his suggestion and had a "farinheira" (artisanal sausage), carapaus (kind of sardines) and cheese. And then the most tasty Brás Cod I've ever had. As dessert, we had local desserts, coffee and liquor. A very good selection of wines - we chose an Alentejo and mineral water. Everything for two for less than 60 euros. And the cozy ambiance and lovely talking are free.

The hospitable owner, cozy restaurant atmosphere and local comfort food make the perfect combination and the most unique dining experience in Evora. The owner will instantly charm you with his friendly and welcoming Portuguese service. Dinner at his counter of 9 seats felt more like we were in his home with friends than at a restaurant with strangers. In this delightful and intimate setting, we had fun meeting other travelers and exchanging stories. All home-cooked, the food is fresh, simple, local, and flavourful. Plates are ideal for sharing and portions seem very generous. Please do try his house red wine, which the owner makes and is very good. Tip: Get there well before opening to line up for the first set of limited seats. This was one of the most memorable meals we had in Portugal.

Very small, intimate dining experience (get there early)! Everything we ordered was superb - Portuguese home cooking at its best with warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good wines. Good prices.

You have have have to go to this place. The food is amazing. But it's not about the food it's the communal atmosphere of sharing food , laughs , chats with other patrons. It's intimate and the owners are amazing. We went on a rainy afternoon and ended up in a global community of people from all over the world all tasting wines with a local wine maker. A star of a place ! Amazing !

Nine seats at a bar. That's it. A warm and friendly host who takes the orders and serves the food and wine. His wife is in the kitchen and prepares the most amazing but down-to-earth food.
