“modern comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014 via mobile

Situated conveniently on the edge of tow this hotel provided a welcome overnight stop. We were traveling with elderly disabled family members and this hotel could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We enjoyed an excellent dinner and service at the bar was friendly but unobtrusive. The only downside was that in the well adapted disability bedroom, the wc did not flush very efficiently and the washbasin lacked a plug. Otherwise the rooms were great. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

I'll start this review by saying that I only stayed for 2 nights and it was out of season so take that for what its worth!

A very clean, spacious hotel, though given that we were half of what appeared to be the whole hotel guest list (there were 4 in our party!!) I would expect exemplary cleanliness and no complaints there. In fact I would venture to say that there appeared to be more staff than guests during our stay, though given the few guests there I would've thought we could've had yoghurts every breakfast time but there was sufficient other food to cover this omission.

Rooms were very nice, large enough to allow for the normal explosion of clothes and cases without the usual hassle of having to tidy everything away immediately upon arrival. I do like to to lounge about initially to get over the journey and the room allowed me to indulge.

One major whinge though was the internet; room web surfing required buying time whereas the hotel did provide a free hotspot service it was only available in the foyer, which is okay if a little bit of email catch up and news reading is all your after but trying to Skype family isn't on! This is my biggest issue with many hotels and chains nowadays that they try to cash in on not only business users but most holidaymakers who now tend to carry web devices. Come on guys give up a bit of free internet, room rates are bad enough these days.

Not everything was bad, but I had to stay in this hotel for 2 weeks due to job. I got a discounted rate of 5Euro per night for internet, but it was very hit or miss. Conducted download test and it showed only .67Mbs download and .29 on the upload.

I had very bad smoke in my room since the lounge was on the main floor below me. I ended up getting moved at 0130 of the second night of my complaint. So bad I felt sick and had a rough throat for 3 days not to mention not sleeping well. Once I was moved, the smoke issue didn't present itself again.

They like to save electricity which I applaud, but to be so cheap that they don't put an alarm clock in the room was too cheesy for me.

The "Bed" was 2 uncomfortable twin beds together the first few nights. The queen bed in my new room was better, but not a 4 star bed by any standard.

Breakfast was a good continental buffet, but stay away from the eggs and bacon as the eggs are all runny. Plent of juice to pic from and bread is pretty fresh.

Bathroom was the highlight of this place. Granite tile and everything works.

Room Tip: If you don't smoke, make sure the get you far from the bar/lounge

Well , thats a nice hotel, but a average one, not luxuos at all. Breakfast could be better, very few choices for a 4 * Hotel. The rooms were ok, but very simple.... A very simple hotel for 2 nights.
Negative : the number of chairs at the pool..it had like 6 to 8 chairs maximum...3 couples get them all and he didnt have any for us.
For me this is more a 3* hotel , but a very good one.
But i recommend this hotel.

A good sized room with balcony which did not have any chairs or tables! They supplied a small bottle of both combined shampoo and shower gel.

Large pool area with two pools, one for children, and sun-loungers, the latter were not very clean and had dirty shoemarks at one end.

The breakfast was poor, with both bread and pastries tasteless. There was only a small selection of fresh fruit and the juice would have helped you glow in the dark – it was so full of tartrazine and artifical colouring!! However we ate twice in the restaurant for dinner and on both occasions the food was good. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

We were charged E4 for pool towels, which was not refundable. We also reported that the toilet seat was loose, but it remained unrepaired for the duration of our stay of three days.

It is very difficult to park in the centre of Beja, and this hotel is on the edge which is an added bonus. There is a reasonable amount of free parking, although some people may not like it as it is adjacent to a filling station.

My wife and I travelled all over Portugal (and to some Spanish cities near the Portuguese border as well). Bejaparque hotel was one of the best hotels we stayed in that trip. The room was neat and comfortable, and breakfast was more than satisfactory. It is not downtown Beja, but since it is not a big city we were quite near all main attractions. And the hotel is absolutely quiet - wonderful for us who really needed a good night of sleep.
