We had two separate one night stays here on our journey to and from Southern Germany and had two very contrasting experiences. On the first occasion we were allocated a fairly spacious room (112) which appeared to have been recently refurbished and had both the room and bedding were clean. The receptionist was pleasant but just gave us our key and informed us we on the first floor. Leaving reception was a bit off putting as the carpet in the hallway was all rucked up and looked untidy but this was not reflected in the rest of the hotel.
On the second visit we were allocated a much smaller room (201) not as smartly appointed as the first and in which the shower head would not stay in an upright position. The curtains would not draw fully requiring the outside shutters to be lowered thus preventing any air entering the room however the hotel stands on a busy road and near the railway making it rather noisy to keep the windows open. On arrival we were informed that a wedding party was expected and it would be advisable to reserve a table for dinner. This we did but the wedding party had taken over the whole dining room and we had been given a table outside. It was a nice evening for dining outside but our table was in a corner in the shrubbery among the nettles and thistles some of which were overhanging the chairs. We asked to be moved and whilst the waiter did this it was with a bit of a bad attitude and then we were overcharged for drinks which had to be rectified. The wedding party played loud music which went on until 0200 hours the following morning and then the guests came noisily upstairs. This was not very good when we had a long journey the next day.
On this second visit we felt a bit like second class citizens.
