What an awesome weekend away from home. The hospitality shown was amazing and guests were accommodated in every aspect. The tranquil surroundings and ambience will not be forgotten. The superb rooms and attention to detail was very much appreciated. Yolandi and her staff went out of their way to make the guests feel welcome. We could well be on the Mediterranean coastline it was just soo beautiful. Thank you Yolandi. From Arnie & Andrea Rothfusz.

Room Tip: Each and every room was my best. Would find it very difficult to choose.

A welcoming, small, friendly and very well run hotel offering spacious, well presented and luxuriously appointed rooms. It's position over the lake presents stunning views and gives easy access to a variety of tourist attractions. The service of our lovely hostess Yolandie and the team was second to none, truly caring and helpful. The breakfasts and dinner were of a very high quality and the hotel feels more like an extremely comfortable private home with courtious staff. Our 3 children (12, 14, 16) described the guest house as "warm, friendly, impressive, excellent food, homely, amazing, comfortable".
For us, this has been a simply perfect way to be introduced to South Africa, after a long overnight flight from the UK, at the start of our African safari adventure.
A 5*****+ hotel - we would like to stay a huge THANK you from the Neal family to all at this fabulous boutique hotel.

Having stayed in many guest houses in Hartbeesport, Stirling Manor tops the lot. What a beautiful house. Breathtaking view. 5 star service, the staff can't do enough for you. Thank you Yolandi and staff.

The view is breathtaking - we felt as if we were overlooking the coast of some little Italian town and could hardly believe it was just the Hartbeespoort dam a mere hour from JHB!

The guesthouse is immaculately run with friendly, attentive staff - who really go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is exceptionally well maintained and everything is polished down to the last detail. It is beautifully decorated, fresh flower arrangements, little touches that just show that they are very involved in the constant upkeep of the guesthouse.

Rooms are tasteful, large and spacious. Very comfortable. Breakfast's are beautifully served. Traditional spread - nothing out of the ordinary but very tasty none the less.

All in all - it is a great little spot to hide away from the world for a weekend, to enjoy a truly special view and to just relax. The surrounding restaurants are divine, so this is a great location for exploring the culinary treats of the area. The Silver Orange and Stef's Table are a must.

It's a guesthouse, not a 5 star game lodge, so its important to remember the difference and manage expectations based on that. The average Jo'burger cant afford to just pop out of town for a weekend away to one of the private bush lodges at R6k+ per person per night, and there isnt much in between - so this spot fills that gap perfectly. It's affordable, it's relatively uxurious enough to still make it a treat, and its nice to just escape JHB for a night or two.

It's a romantic, beautiful and a well run boutique guest house - that makes for a great weekend away.

Room Tip: If you don't get a room with a view of the dam, defeats the whole purpose.
