“A great find!”
Reviewed August 14, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed at Foinavon for 2 weeks and had a fantastic time! The house is lovely and has everything there that you need and really felt like home. The kitchen is well equipped and everything you need during your stay is provided. The whole house was very clean and comfortable and had the added bonus of the conservatory and hot tub which was a big hit with all of us and was put to use most evenings. It's very peaceful at Foinavon with fantastic views, some of the best we've ever had on holiday and we really didn't want to leave!!

The house is ideally situated for visiting all the attractions the IOW has to offer, with Brading Roman Villa being nearly on the doorstep. We spent a lovely morning at the Roman Villa followed by lunch there and really recommend a visit. We also ate at the Bugle Inn one evening and really enjoyed the food, and can also highly recommend the fish and chip shop on the high street! There are some great beaches around, Yaverland being a favourite of ours - nice and sandy and also by the cliffs so the fossil hunter among us could look for fossils while we went in the sea. St Helen's is also another really nice beach, quieter than some others and with a nice cafe. There really is so much to do on the island that we didn't manage to fit everything in to the 2 weeks.

This really is one of the nicest holiday homes we've stayed in. Sue and Rob are lovely and very happy to help if you have any queries or requests. I can't recommend this place highly enough, and we will definitely look to stay here again next time we are on the island.

“Amazing Views”
Reviewed July 26, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The apartment was very well equipped and clean, the welcome starter groceries were a nice touch and the hot tub was a bonus. Although we were not aware just how close the railway line was (at the bottom of the garden) it did not impede our stay and the views certainly made up for it. A short walk to Brading Railway Station/visitor centre was a pleasant experience. Foinavon location is central to visiting many attractions and beaches and bus stops nearby provide a route both north and south.. Plenty of leaflets available in the property to help you plan days out. The beds were comfy and the bed linen was first class. We had one or two 'teething problems' which Rob managed to sort out quickly and could not have been more helpful. Once we got used to the 'parallel parking' and that it was easier to park at certain times of the day (due to the very busy road) we planned days out accordingly. A smaller car would have been an asset. Tesco supermarket is 5 mins down the road and the Busy Bee Garden centre off the same island is well worth a visit. We found a little farm shop next to the Oasis Gift Centre were we bought most of our fresh veg and fruit - tastes so much better when just picked. Mixed reviews about the local bars/restaurants. The Bugle served reasonable family meals whereas The Yarbridge was more fine dining. The Wheatsheaf didn't get good reviews from the locals but we found that although it was a basic pub the ale was well kept and cold! The bar staff and customers were very friendly. Refurbishments were taking place so no food was being served but there was an outside seating area. We would not recommend this apartment for wheelchair users as it is reached by steps (unless the user had some degree of mobility). We were made aware of this by viewing the 'walk around' video made by Rob so it did not prove a problem. Overall we had a wonderful Sapphire Anniversary stay at Foinavon and look forward to returning for our Diamond.
