Dennis, Wild Olive and Quince Cottages
Reviewed May 1, 2014

I took leave between Easter & Anzac Day so we went to the Clare valley which is nice and close and we had never stayed in the area.
We found this beautiful B&B in the quaint historical town of Auburn about 24 kms south of Clare in the Clare Valley.
From the moment we walked in to when we left, we felt comfortable and pampered.
The cottage is well stocked for breakfast and in the colder months the combustion heater is fantastic, the bottle of red wine and all the other little touches such as chocolates made for a great couple of days.
The clare Valley has so many great wineries and eating places that a week is probably not long enough. We are looking forward to going back for a longer stay.
there are a lot of little towns and places to visit, the Rising Sun Hotel is just across the road for fantastic meals and atmosphere, and the Clare Valley Brewing company just around the corner for some great Craft Beers, make this one a must!

This delightful heritage cottage is presented beautifully with added comforts of a large comfy bed and pillows, cosy furniture, spa bath and wood fire (plus reverse cycle air conditioning on both levels), there is a private garden oasis accessible from the ground level to enjoy a coffee to read a book or a meal. Kitchen is well equipped with all the necessities + more. Travelling alone as I researched family history and found the accommodation quite secure. The hosts are very nice people who were prompt in replying to my enquiry and on on booking provide all the necessary details and are only a phone call away but are not intrusive. Lovely little treats on arrival and a bottle of the Clare regions renowned Riesling (though I was also offered the alternative Shiraz on booking). Reasonable driving distance to Clare and various vineyards. Walking distance to the iconic Rising Sun restaurant (maybe 30 steps) and walking trails with a tranquil park only a few steps away. A short stroll to an IGA supermarket which has a huge variety of stock and a petrol station is close by. Very happy with my choice.
