The Coach House had all the amenities needed for a self catering stay. A very good washing machine, dishwasher, cooker and fridge freezer; not something you always get in a Gite. Comfortable furnishings and lovely Gite atmosphere with good heating for the colder times. Outside, a fantastic barbecue and private patio alongside the shared heated pool, games hut and large garden with lots of activities.
We rarely return to the same area twice but this property might well change our minds!

The cottages at La Metairie are set in a beautiful rural location, positioned ideally for day trips to the beaches of southern Brittany and for exploring the local towns of Auray, Vannes, Carnac, Quiberon etc.
The Coach House itself is a well-equipped, spacious cottage (we were the first guests to benefit from the new kitchen extension) and the grounds of La Metairie are perfect for kids. The heated swimming pool and well-maintained play equipment will keep them occupied for hours.
Joanne & Adrian were perfect hosts; friendly, informative and quick to deal with requests.
Our only (but major) disappointment was the unseasonable bad weather (pretty much wall to wall rain), which did affect the time we could spend outside.
Holidaying in Brittany, in our opinion, is very much an outdoorsy sort of experience and if you get the right weather, it'd be idyllic. However some of the indoor public facilities (e.g. swimming pools, attractions like the aquarium at Vannes) were often shut for extended lunchtimes, crowded and overpriced. So, if the weather is bad, it really does make life a bit difficult.
But, that's the luck of the draw, and it won't stop us from returning to Brittany in the future.
