“Great place”
Reviewed September 28, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Great location, easy to find, 5 mins walk to Menin Gate and centre of Ypres, also very quiet - slept well! The house is attractive outside, and smart, clean and modern inside, and Bernard is very helpful and knowledgeable about Ypres and its history and the surrounding area. Also a few steps to the lovely ramparts walk around Ypres - the wide, low, grass-topped walls are more like an elevated town park encircling the town with the wide moat forming the lake.

“Great house, great location.”
Reviewed September 7, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We stayed here for one night and can't fault it. The owner lives next door and is very helpful. The house is immaculate and very well equipped for self catering. It's only a short walk into the centre and even closer to the Menin Gate. The Old Bill pub nearby is worth a visit.

“Convenient and a home from home”
Reviewed April 25, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

This flat is in a great location, a 5 min walk away from the Menin Gate and Flanders Fields museum, and yet quiet and off the main tourist drag. Spotless with all mod cons, the owner is available but not invasive, and full of suggestions and nuggets of info - he definitely goes the second mile, in fact he made our stay even better than expected. It's also great value for money. The only drawback would be for people with reduced mobility as in these local houses the access to the upper floors is up a steep flight of stairs; but for most people this just adds to the authenticity of the building. TV and wifi for the teenagers in your life.

“Great base for exploring Ypres and it's history”

Booked this a few days before going to Belgium. Bernard the owner was pretty helpful both before and while we were there. Accommodation was spotless and everything worked as it should. The house is right by some steps which lead up to the moat wall which is a pleasant walk and two minutes away from the square and again a couple of minutes from the Menin Gate where you can watch the Last Post ceremony which is performed there every evening at 8pm and is quite moving.

Thanks for the feedback and good tip, I'll make sure to have a coffee making machine as well instead of just the kettle. Kind regards, Bernard
