“Beautiful tribute to a Doctor, Soldier and Poet.”
Reviewed August 2, 2014

The John McCrae site is in the same location as the Essex Farm Cemetery. The site is where lieutenant Colonel McCrae worked as a Doctor caring for the wounded, officiated at funerals and wrote his famous poem. On the site is a bunker where he worked and a monument with the original handwritten words of the poem are displayed in bronze. A beautiful tribute overall and an opportunity to visit the heroes who were laid to rest here.

“In Flanders Fields ............”

Very moving to visit the site in which this beautiful and moving poem was written. Very interesting example of a concrete blockhouse to examine along with the large and as always beautifully maintained cemetery.
