Owner description: Tucked away almost and across the road from the Cathedral is this unique church built to honour the British and Commonwealth fallen of both world wars but principally the First World War. Built in 1927 it remains a superb place of remembrance and somewhere where families and individuals connected to 'the fallen' in Flanders Fields can find a moment of quiet, calm and reflection. There is a small resident congregation who live in Ypres and surrounding area of Belgium and Lille (Northern France). All are welcome to our regular Sunday services held in the Anglican tradition and you will be sure of a warm welcome.

A place of prayerful reflection if you wish or a place to sit in the silence of eternity reflecting on the sacrifice of generations and the sadness that we seemed to have learnt nothing...

So touching to see all the plaques and memorials to all the young lads killed in the First World War. Fascinating insight into the number of little more than schoolboys fighting as soldiers as many of the plaques are from the schools they attended.

Quiet and respectful place to visit. Situated a little off the main square but well worth the visit. You are made to feel very welcome by the volunteers who are happy to answer any questions you may have.

I find this church and its military history absolutely fascinating. The plaques around the church tell an amazing story about those who gave their lives in the First World War. I could spend hours here and I bring groups of people regularly.
