I visited as I was in the area and have always wanted to take a look. I wasn’t disappointed. A lot of information and material that was used during the war. If you are near, go there, but make sure you leave yourself an absolute minimum of one hour

This museum should not be missed by anyone visiting Ypres/Ieper, as it provides so much context, balance and interpretation relating to the truly horrific events in this area in the First World War.

Situated just along from the tourist office in the middle of the main square, this could not be more central. Lots of information to read including moving testimonials from various combatants with excellent graphics. We came away with so much more knowledge about the horrific environment that these soldiers had to endure.

We’ve visited this museum several times and every time we are impressed and discover something new.
The museum had a makeover a few years back. We couldn’t image that it could be better than it already was, but it is.

To get an excellent impression of what took place here a 100 odd years ago, you really should visit this museum. It is situated in the old cloth hall on the central market place. There are regularly expositions, so take a look on the website. In my opinion, together with the Memorial museum in Zonnebeke the best places for WW1.
