Owner description: The Ypres region was the backdrop to on of the bloodiest battles in history, 100 years ago. Now the last witness have died too, the In Flanders Fields Museum is more than ever the gateway to the First World War in Flanders. The In Flanders Fields Museum confronts the visitor with the consequences of the Great War. Old and young are faced with life and death in the Ypres front region. The exhibition with touching video projects, unique sound fragments and the most up-to-date multimedia applications immerse you in the life at the front. each visitor also receives a poppy bracelet that enables him/her to discover four personal stories of 'Joe Public' in the Great War. By logging in you can meet your peers in the war, a century ago.

This is an amazing place to visit with much effort and accuracy put into the recent upgrade and interactive exhibits.
A must visit and allow plenty of time to appreciate all there is.

“Worth a look if you have not been before.”

The museum has been updated and still retains some great exhibits. However I preferred the old pre update version.
Admission prices have gone up - especially for children,

“Excellent interactive museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Having visited this museum before I was astounded by the changes, it has been totally revamped only reopening in September2012 . It is now a moving experience you can see the pictures and watch the re-enactments and feel some of the horror of this awful war. Particularly moving is the exhibit about the Christmas truce.

“Absolute must see for anyone visiting the region”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

There are quite some museums remembering the Great War in and around the area, but the In Flanders Field Museum is an absolute must-see. It gives a in-depth look at the life in and around the front of the 14-18 war.

“Informative and Well Organized”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013

When you pay for entrance to the museum it includes a bracelet, with a poppy on it and rfid in it. This bracelet activates entrance and exits, as well as customizes your experience as you can use it to activate different stories and personal experiences throughout the museum. The museum makes the history of the war a personal story. The focus is on people and the human element of war, and not focusing all on the military element of war. Museum is well done and worth the visit.
