This was our first visit to Ypres and I used Trip Advisor to guide me to a nice hotel. The Albion is very well placed, it is a couple of minutes walk from the main square and the Menin Gate, so ideally placed. We were able to park in a small free car park a minutes walk away. The reception staff are very friendly and pleasant. Everything was explained clearly to us and we were shown how to use the front door out of hours. They were helpful in giving us advice about how to spend our time. We also met the hotel owner who made us feel very welcome
Our bedroom was very clean and had good quality furniture, and a kettle for us to make a drink, this is often not available in European hotels and we were very grateful for it. The bathroom was very large with a bath and a shower cubicle and the towels of high quality as was the bedding. My son's room was equally clean pleasant and of quality
Breakfast was also very nice.
We chatted to a number of other guests who all said that they felt it to be the best hotel in Ypres and who visit time and time again.
The only thing I did miss was a safe to lock my valuables away in
I would definitely stay here again.

Just stayed here for the weekend and can honestly say I really don't have anything negative to say about it. Ideally located three minutes from Menin gate and all of the attractions in the middle of town.

Very warm welcome and a fantastic room with the comfiest bed I have been in for quite some time.

Super fast free wifi in all areas.

Great selection of continental breakfast.

Very clean hotel with happy staff who provided us with lots of information.

Even though there is no hotel parking we parked outside the hotel entrance every night without a problem.

This is the second time I have stopped at this hotel. They do not have private parking, but we always managed to park reasonably close. Rooms and bathrooms nice and clean, well serviced. Continental breakfast very fresh and bountiful. No evening meals served but plenty of great eateries within a few minutes walk. Menin gate and cloth hall both about a four minute walk.

Would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I were recently in Iepers during one of the coldest days they've had in years. I had booked a room at another hotel nearby that we found out was actually closed for business although no communication was ever given to me in advance of my arrival to those locked doors and the note on the door did not indicate full closure, simply: come back later". We had travelled 3 hours on various trains and walked in the freezing cold with our luggage for hours as we kept returning to the hotel we were meant to stay at hoping that the "return later" sign would be down. It never was. Exasperated with our demise we set out to find new lodging. By now we were chilled to the bone. A few streets further we found Albion Hotel and the phenomenal hotel owner there. She sympathized with us offered us a room at the best rate she could, escorted us to our room and turned made sure the room would be warm quickly for us. She managed to turn our horrible experience into many silver linings. The room was spacious and warm. Hot coffee and tea in our room. We enjoyed a drink in the lounge that evening after seeing the "Last Post" and woke up to a fresh continental breakfast of beautiful pastries, lovely cheeses, fresh fruit salad and more. A hearty way to start the day. The staff for breakfast was attentive and very friendly. We stored our luggage there for the day while we toured Iepers and when we returned, they made sure we were ready for our journey to Brussels. We found this to feel like "home away from home". I was more than impressed and very grateful for their genuine care for our well being. I would encourage anyone to make the Albion their hotel of choice when staying in Iepers. You will love it!!

Stayed here one night whilst visiting the battlefields. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and plentiful. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we were greeted very warmly on a cold snowy day. Perfect in terms of location and free parking on the street. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I stayed here for two nights in January ( during the heavy snow) whilst visiting the Ypres salient battlefields. The twin room was clean but basic, tea/coffee making facilities in room, a clean shower room with plenty of hot water. The stairwell between the ground floor and the first fold smelt a little musty but it did not reach the room. The all the staff very helpful and friendly, the receptionist even coming outside in the snow to check that I had parked in the right bay to avoid a parking ticket. The self service continental breakfast was very good with a self service style that allowed guests to adjust what they needed according to taste. Good value and only a very short walk to the Menin Gate for the evening Last Post ceremony.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ypres or the surrounding area. Very close by the centre of the town and the Menin Gate. Not far away is the Groote Markt the town square. The rooms were warm and cosy on a very cold night. High ceiling with an old world charm. Warm welcome on arrival. Breakfast was very good. Would like to see some scrambled egg and perhaps crisp bacon but otherwise excellent. Dining staff in fact all staff were very pleasant. All in all an excellent hotel
