“The Best B&B in Europe”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

After visiting seven countries on a recent holiday to Europe and staying at many B&B's, hotels and hostels we have to say that B&B @ Rooms was not only the best accommodation on our holiday but our stay there was a highlight of our trip.

The bedrooms/ensuites are spacious and luxurious, and the breakfast absolutely delicious and abundant. Nancy and Dirk would be the perfect hostess and host. They are interested in finding out your reasons for visiting the area, helpful with directions and suggestions on places to visit and have a wonderful warm unassuming manner.

This B&B is a 'must stay' when visiting the Western Front - simply THE BEST!

The B&B is situated a 5 minute leisurely walk away from the main square in Ypres in a quiet residential area with easy free on street parking. The house itself has a lovely character, and has been modernized with good taste.

The room is very spacious, with an excellent bed and top quality bathroom. It has all the amenities you would expect in a top hotel available to you including free wifi, free bottled water, mini-bar with a whole range of drinks at reasonable prices to name just a few.

The breakfast is out of this world and definitely has to be one of the better "Continental" breakfasts around. A variety of bread rolls(fresh from the bakery), delicious delicatessen and cheese selection accompanied with pastries, eggs, fruit salad, locally produced yoghurt.

Nancy and Dirk (and the twins) are perfect hosts and will make you feel at home, they are around to have a nice chat with tips on things to see/do in the wider area. This is a fairly newly opened B&B and they managed to get everything just right.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this B&B and would definitely return and recommend this to other people visiting Ypres.

What a find this B & B is. I was recently fortunate enough to experience some good B & Bs in Europe including a five night stay @ Room’s,which was the best of them all. This is an excellent B & B, with excellent facilities, including the much talked about, best breakfast of them all. Nancy and Dirk are the perfect hosts. Warm & friendly & always willing to assist & advise. If I ever make it back to Ypres, this is where I’ll be staying. I can gladly recommend this B & B to everyone who is looking for first class accomodation in Ypres. “It is good to have friends all over the world”. Thank you Nancy & Dirk for your welcome.

We stayed at different places in Ypers and "@ Rooms" has been the absolutely best! The room was amazingly stylish as well as furnished, not at least with local beverages and drinks. The breakfast was simply perfect. From fruit salad to bread rolls, from eggs to local yoghurt and gastronomic specialities, from time for yourself in front of the fireplace to really enjoyable talks with Dirk and Nancy - everything you like!
They had great knowledge and tips regarding the area up to the Atlantic Coast, and we tried every single one of them. And if you want to stay only in Ypers, you will be perfectly right here. In walking distance to the city but quiet nevertheless.
We cannot imagine a better place for your B&B stay. Always the right choice and we will surely come back. Simply recommendable say Alex & Carola!

This was our second visit to Ieper this year and we didn't think it could get any better - how wrong we were! Nancy & Dirk welcomed us to their newly renovated B&B - the standard of which was extremely high, more akin to an hotel than a B&B. The room that we stayed in was spacious and very well appointed, with plenty of storage and a very well stocked fridge! The bathroom was light and airy with his & her basins and a lovely shower. Breakfast was a feast to behold - plates of cheese, ham, bread, pastries not to mention the freshly squeezed orange juice, fresh fruit salad and yogurt from a local farm. If it wasn't there, Nancy would spirit it to the table. We are already planning our next visit!

We stayed only one night with Nancy and Dirk in mid September while touring the WW1 battlefields. Even before we had arrived Dirk had kindly sent us photos of the sites we might be visiting which alowed us to plan our visit - a very thoughtful gesture. Nancy and Dirk are wonderful hosts. They provided excellent advice on what to see (in our limited time) and where to eat in the city square (Int Klein Stadhuis). The B&B is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the old town, in Flanders Fields Museum and of course the Menin Gate, but in a street where parking (free) was easy. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, a great range (fresh berries) and plentiful. We really regretted that our itinerary did not allow us to stay longer. I would recommend 3 days. B&B@Rooms is a relatively new B&B but Nancy and Dirk have got it right.

Room Tip: We had a front room on the street but it was very quiet.

We were a group of 4 visiting Ieper in order to tour the WW1 battlefields and after reading some reviews on Trip Advisor of this B&B I booked it for 3 nights via email. Before we even got to Europe I had several very helpful emails from Dirk including one offering to meet us at the train to take us to the B&B! When we arrived Nancy was waiting on the platform and transported us to her home. We were absolutely astounded by the way they have turned this house into a beautifully decorated and appointed home. The breakfast room was lovely with a fireplace to warm you up first thing on a cool morning! The breakfasts Nancy presented were amazing as mentioned by other reviewers! The bedrooms and ensuites would match or exceed those in most 5 star hotels. If you are ever travelling to Ieper you must try to book Nancy and Dirk's B&B.We did not have much interaction with Dirk because of our schedule and his not coinciding but did enjoy his warm welcome and interest in us when we did have a chance to meet.
