Ramparts Cemetary is, in my mind the most beautiful War Cemetery we visited. Perched on the edge of the rampart, overlooking the moat it is so serene. We too visited on a very cold day in mid January. Early morning with thick snow on the ground, a heavy fog over the moat and the sun trying so hard to peek through. If I had been a soldier killed in WW1 and could have chosen where to be buried .. this would be the place. Utterly beautiful.
