What a find! We stayed for two nights, but really wished we had made it longer. Our warm (the weather was freezing outside) rooms 'Glory' and 'Experiment' were very imaginatively and comfortably decorated. Each of the superb bathrooms had faultless plumbing and wonderfully scented toiletries. Our rooms had a safe, complimentary mini bar with wine, whiskey, Baileys, soft drinks, nibbles, super soft beds with good linen sheets and welcoming Belgian chocolates etc - everything was thought of. The hotel sitting room was packed with interesting books and leaflets to help with planning our days (as well as with homemade cakes in the afternoon). Carine was the best of hosts and breakfast was the best we've ever had - champagne, fruit salad, vanilla rice, fresh homemade bread, meats, cheeses, excellent cooked choices, croissants, hot chocolate and more and more. We were able to park beside the church opposite so that we could see our car from the hotel. In conclusion, the Main Street Hotel proved to be a perfect haven and an ideal place from which to walk to the Menin Gate to hear the Last Post and to drive around Flanders to visit the WWI battlefields and cemeteries.
