We had a great dinner here already back in November during a week-end stay in Ypres.
The restaurant is run by a couple. She works as front-of-house, and he runs the kitchen.
Menu design, ingredient quality, taste combinations, textures and presentation were all of very high standing. Clearly, there is much attention to detail and "savoir faire" going on here. All of our questions were easily and competently answered.
Having eaten at many of the Michelin-star restaurants in a 250 km radius of Ypres, we were very impressed with our overall experience here, as well as cost / value ratio, and rate this restaurant as being easily on par with numerous 1-star contenders.
Speaking to the lady of the house, we understand however that it is not their intention to join those starred ranks, and as this can indeed change the character and, importantly pricing of a restaurant applaud their decision.
If you are looking for a great dining experience in a nice town-house setting smack dab in the middle of Ypres and within very easy walking distance of the major hotels there then treat yourself to this experience.
