Went here for a long weekend to see WWI battlefields. Vincent (owner) is clearly ambitious and hence runs a very well oiled machine! Very helpful, putting us on to a great restaurant for dinner and giving us a cycle map of the area. Would definitely recommend for friends.

I had a great time while staying in Ambrosia. I feel so relaxed and comfortable because of cosy and homely ambiance of the hotel. They also serve a very good cooked breakfast. Aside from these, they also offer bicycles and vespa for you to use in going around the city.

Ambrosia is strategically located in the heart of Ieper near the Menin Gate and other World War I sites.

The Ambrosia Hotel is without a doubt one of the better Ypres hotels.

My wife and I chose Hotel Ambrosia on the basis of trip advisor recommendations and we were not disappointed.
It's in a great location for the main square with all the bars, restaurants and the Menin Gate. The Belgians in the town of Ypres were most welcoming and we were treated to some great meals and of course, excellent beer.
There is free tea and coffee available from 9.00 am to 5 pm in the reception
Ypres provide an excellent base to tour the WW1 battlefields in the area.
I would highly recommend a visit to the city and a stay with Vincent at the Hotel Ambrosia

Located close to the top sights and the shops as well as the World War 1 battle fields and the Menin Gate, this small personalised hotel is a real gem. It is well-appointed and owned and operated by a young couple, Vincent & Iwona, whose attention to your comfort is paramount. Vincent also cooks up a mean breakfast. One not to be missed if travelling in West Flanders

We had two nights here after staying in a chain hotel in France. What a difference. It was great and you feel really looked after by Vincent. Everybody is right - the breakfasts are great, as is the location.

We stayed at the Ambrosia just for one nigh - Easter Saturday as it happened. The idea was for the six of us to see the Menin Gate prior to travelling to the Somme area where a gite awated us. Our satnav eventually found the hotel in a quiet part of town but only a few minutes from the bars and restaurants of the main square. Parking could prove a bit of a problem if you wanted to stay for more than one night but we were foryunate there was no charge in the evening or on Sunday.
The hotel is very clean and run by people who speak better English than many English. There is a small reception area with a few seats, a vending machine and complimentary coffee/tea. Our room was first rate with plenty of space and an excellent bathroom.
Breakfast was very good; there was a cooked option as well as the traditional continental choice. The only problem was that the breakfast room was quite small so we had to wait for six of us to be seated together. But we weren't in any hurry.
We found a number of restaurants for our meal on Saturday evening but they seemed a little expensive and not that inspiring. We ventured into Old Tom as we had seen it recommended; we were disappointed. There was a distinct greasy smell and then we found out they had no mussels. We had a beer and left. BUT only a few doors away we found the Kollenbloeme restaurant - the food was great the service quick and friendly and overall we had a great evening there

From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome here. Vincent was a fantastic host.
Ambrosia is clean and comfortable. It is only a minutes walk from the main square and very close to the Menin Gate. Vincent cooks a beautiful breakfast and has everything we required. There is a wonderful coffee machine in reception and small chocolate easter eggs were on the counter for guests. It was the perfect base for our touring. Parking was not a problem. We parked at the door. There are bikes and Vespas for hire also. New Zealand.
