Visited the city of Ypres in Belgium for 2 days and stayed at the hotel Ambrosia. A small but very nice hotel literally off the market square so within 2 minutes of the centre and local restatuarants. A family run hotel with very friendly and helpfull staff. Although only listed as a 2 star it is very clean and tidy with nicely equipped rooms. The breakfast is excellent with both buffet style and cooked bacon and eggs freshly cooked if required. There is on street parking but is meter controlled. An excellent place for a short stay and certainly for couples. We will be using again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Stayed just one night here but must write review to recommend. Very friendly and helpful staff and extremely central location: 2 mins walk to main square and 5 mins from Menin Gate. Lovely home cooked breakfast too! The rooms are a bit on the small side and it’s only street parking but there are bikes to hire and that is the best way to get around the surrounding countryside anyway. Would definitely recommend.

Just got back to the UK having stayed a couple of nights here. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. All staff were very friendly and did there utmost to make you feel welcome. Breakfast was a buffet or cooked fresh and there was plenty to eat. The hotel is within a short walking distance of the main sites to visit in Ieper.
It is clean and competitively priced to stay. I recommend this hotel.

Stayed at the Ambrosia with 5 friends for 3 nights. From the minute we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Vincent was very friendly and very helpful. Pointed out many of the places of interest in Ypres and provided each of us with a booklet of discount tickets.
The hotel was very clean, rooms were fresh and bright with the velux windows. Bathroom spotless with toiletries available. Fresh towels available I’d tou wanted and rooms cleaned and straightened up each day. Even had my jumper hung up by the cleaner in the wardrobe after I just left it on the bed.
The breakfast was at a good time, anytime between 8 and 10. Welcomed to the table by a pleasant young lady who then offered to cook bacon and eggs while we helped ourselves to anything from the more traditional continental breakfast range. All food was super fresh and tasty. Plenty of tea/coffe/juice on offer.
We hired bikes for one day. Vincent went to great lengths to explain the set up of the bikes and provided a map of suitable routes around the region.
Had a great stay in Ypres visiting Tyne Cot cemetery, the Flanders Fields museum and climbing the belfry. Can’t wait to come again to see more.
Would highly recommend the Ambrosia for anyone staying in Ypres.
