We had a pre-Valentine dinner in Table d'Amis 10 days ago. This restaurant has experienced nothing but a steep rise since its opening in 2009, and now boosts a Michelin star and a 17/20 Gault Millau rating. We visited a number of times.
Restaurant atmosphere is cosy and intimate. We chose the degustation menu (8 courses, 90 euro) and a delicious bottle of Antinori's Guado al Tasso 2007 (wine list is becoming better here with an expanding selection of world wines). All plates exhibit pure and fresh flavors, attentive cooking and contemporary presentation. Portion size is rather small, but I like it like that - you can always fill up on the cheese trolley afterwards if needed. Waiting time between courses could be a bit variable, and wine was poured rather quickly (I prefer being given the impression of an 'endless' bottle of wine, but then: this might not actually be realistic).
This is undoubtedly the best spot to enjoy Modernist Cuisine in Kortrijk.
