Our staff did everything what was possible to help you with the accident, but we aren't trained as nurse of course. To generalize the whole trip as bad due to this accident isn't nice for the hotel and buscompany. Accidents causes always problems and concenrs, but we can confirm doing our very best to make it as easy as possible for you. We appologize not having convinced you during your holiday. Hope we can do this on a next occasion.
With kind regards

Ostend Hotel is very clean with helpful staff. The rooms are very basic with twin beds, shower, toilet and sink basin but comfortable. Slightly bigger rooms, that can be partitioned are offered for an extra tenner per night. Breakfast is a help yourself buffet style with limited choice of cereals, fruit, bread for toasting, tasty hard rolls, and omelettes. Also available is orange juice and two tea/coffee machines.

On a whole the hotel is ideally situated with excellent value for a weekend break.

Near by is Flanagan's Irish bar, which is a small family run fun pub, and The Spanish bar which has lively music each night.

Yes it is hard to believe that we have now stayed at the Ostend Hotel so many times. It is as good as ever and we hope to return again in 2014, the rooms have been re-decorated and are very nice, the staff helpful and the breakfast as good as ever, the only problem we have found is the shortage of coffee machines in the breakfast room when the hotel is very full, as it was last week. people fill jugs with coffee instead of just filling a cup at a time which is much quicker and the coffee stays hot.

we still find so much to do in Belgium and as the hotel is a short walk from the station it is so convenient for us, the beach and town are just a short walk away all round a perfect location.

just a few minutes walk from the shopping center and a block away from the sea, you can find this budget friendly hotel. Of course you can choose to stay for one night (or two) but this hotel is best known fot it's short-stay formulas (3 or 4 nights, half board). We recommend these formulas since they offer the best value for your money.
Breakfast: boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, jam, chocolate, cereals, yoghurt, .... no excessive frills or the basic ingredients for a good start to the day.
Dinner (half board) is also a buffet with 1 vegetarian dish, one fish, one meat, one potato dish (fries, croquettes, mashed potatoes, etc.) 2 hot vegetables, soup, bread and saladbar..
We have been visiting this hotel on a regular basis and can confirm that a lot of renovations have been implemented during the last year. We think that nearly all the rooms have been renovated.
The standard rooms are very cramped (only about 1 metre of space between the bed and the wall) so we always opt for a 'family' room or a suite. These family rooms cost only a few euro more than a regular room and the extra cost is worth the effort (in our personal opinion)
It is a family friendly hotel so during schoolholidays there many families with children, during the other periods there are mainly (older) couples staying there.
Downstairs in the lobby, next to the bar there is a play area equipped for children between 3 and 12 years including 2 bouncy castles, a pooltable and a fussballtable.

Room Tip: We would recommend you to book a suite or a family room since the regular rooms are very crampy.

This hotel only have doublerooms, which is excellent news for solo travellers, that sometimes are referred to single rooms that are more like small storage rooms! The hotell is modern and seems to have been spruced up with a bit of colour recently, which gives it a very clean and nice touch. The room had everything one can need such as a doublebed, bed tables, 2 chairs a desk and a closet for your luggage. A tele on the wall, and hairdryer in the bathroom. It is small though but what to expect for 70 euros. Bathroom ok, showercubicle is a bit smallish. Strictly one person at a time...:-). Location great - close to everything such as train, beach, shopping streets, bars (not on the same street) and restos. Breakfast was more than one can expect in Belgium with a choice of bread, tea/coffee/chocolat, cereals, youghurt, ham, cheese, jam, soft cheese, sausage, omelette, boiled eggs, juice etc. There is not much traffic in the area but the insolation between the rooms are not the best. Still, this is a very good value hotel that I would love to come to.

Room Tip: Room 343 with a doublebed. Morningsun though.

I recently travelled to Ostend with a friend for a few days and we booked this hotel online in advance; when we arrived it was everything we expected: great location/ very central to cafes, restaurants, train station and the beach; clean and modern décor. It wasn't anything more or anything less than our expectations but I would definitely recommend it as it is everything you want when staying somewhere for a few days and don't want to spend a fortune- in fact I think value for money is excellent. My only minor criticism is the space to walk along the end of the bed was extremely close to the wall so a few bruised knees and the shower was quite small but you get what you pay for and it certainly didn't detract from our stay. Staff were very polite and helpful too.

Groeten

Just come back from my 10-11 time at this hotel and I can say it has got better yet again . The décor has been started and its much brighter .The staff have helped with any problems we've ad which was a great help , they're always very helpful I've found some who come on coaches (I was one originally) think there going into a 5star hotel it's only3 stars and much better in food tan some a lot more expensive . It's great as a base for travelling around the coast about 24euros on the tram a week (great fun for big kids).I'm looking forward to going at Christmas and new year all being well.
Well done everyone

Room Tip: junior suite give you plenty of room
