stayed here for 4 nights in a twin bedded room, basic but clean and there was a maid service daily. there was also a nice, good size family room for those with children. food was basic and staff were quite friendly.

We stayed here twice again since my last review.
One night from 30th of June 'til 1th of July and 1 night from 18th 'til 19th of August.
We had a twin room both times which was more than adequate. Tough for a longer stay I do advice the Junior Suite, which is a lot bigger.
For 1 night the twin rooms are perfectly fine tough, you don't go on holiday to spend it in your room anyway!
As usual in perfect shape, clean, friendly staff, ...
We'll be staying here again on our next vacation at the coast. Really a great hotel for a small price!

Dear Ona,

Thanks again for your correct review. Personally we recommend our guest to take the junior suite if they stay for longer period. The twin room is a standard ***star hotel room, but no extra comfort. For an extra charge of sometimes € 5 per night you can have a bigger room (twica as big and a big bathroom with bath in stead of shower).
It's nice for us that our guests confirm this. Many thanks and hopefully on a next occasion.
With kind regards

This weekend we booked the ostend hotel for just one night and breakfast. We payed € 96 for our room breakfast included. Probably it's one of the cheapest hotels in Ostend. So ... room is small but the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was basic, but enough for a warm shower. Breakfast was ok. Staff was friendly!
Is this our favorite? No ... 10 years ago we stayed a few times in this hotel with our kids. On that moment it was great ... basic, payable and comfortable because there were a lot of young families.
Now, the hotel is still ok, but we prefer a little more quietness ...
So, if you are looking for a quiet place, this isn't the hotel you are looking for. If you prefer a lively place ... go there .. you got value for money.

We thank you for informing us your stay in our hotel.
Of course during summer holiday there's a lot more activity in the hotel than normal.
We hope to welcome you in the near future.

The hotel was very easy to find, parking was a bit more difficult, but there is a parking garage close by. The staff was very friendly and the hotel rooms were very clean. For those traving with children there were a lot of children activities. The rooms were modern and very clean, the only down side was no air conditioning. Since there is no airconditioning, there is a lot of noise from the street with the window open. This made it very difficult to sleep. Also, the bar downstairs was a nice addition for guests but the furnishings were very worn and stained. I would recommend this hotel for a short weekend beach trip but if you are looking for somewhere more that just to sleep and eat breakfast you might look at other choices.

Booked this hotel on the strength of the Tripadvisor reviews, so I had high expectations. We went to Ostende for a 3 day break to travel up and down the Belgian coast using Ostende as a base. I suspect others will do the same, Brugge (Bruges) is only 13 minutes on the train and would be the obvious tourist draw. Most tourists in the hotel are probably domestic. It's the little things that let this hotel down, the missing tiles in the bathroom, the cracked cups and dirty teaspoons in the breakfast room where a fairly uninspiring breakfast is served. Despite the unseasonably low temperatures our room was very hot at night and with the window open, the street outside was very noisy. The staff were pleasant and helpful although I couldn't get the wifi working in my room, did I need to go down into the lobby area? It was never clear. This hotel has probably seen better days. Perhaps its Tripadvisor rating had raised my expectations too high, this hotel is perfectly OK for the price but not great.

Hello dear gusts,

Thnaks for the review. you're writing that we have seen better days, but it's the opposite....we're creating a new level...Rooms have been refurbished last year and now we're planning the halls, stairways and enlarge shower space in the bathrooms.
We will also take into account the difficulty you had with Wifi. At reception we'll put an information map, so everybody knows what to do. We hope to welcome you in the near future.

With Kind regards

We were lucky enough to have found a "Junior Suite" type room available for the Easter weekend trough a travel agency (Thomas Cook). Very happy us since as I described in my previous review, this hotel is ALWAYS full. Not because they don't have enough rooms, simply because it's THE BEST in whole of Ostend and everybody knows it!
We payed €180 a person, for a Junior Suite type room, half board and parking included for 3 nights.

We stayed from Friday 6th of April 'till Monday 9th of April. Because of work we only hit the road at 6.20 PM. Then traffic wasn't on our side and we arrived a bit later then expected, seeing as the evening buffet was closing in 30 minutes. Boyfriend quickly went in to check in and got the key for the parking spot, which was right behind the hotel. We parked the car and were told we'd best go eat first and then finish checking in. So we did and we went immediately to the restaurant. Food was great - chips and steak and a fish option for mains - and for dessert there were cakes, pies, ice cream, panna cotta, flan karamel, ... I went straight for mains but there was a salad bar and soup also for starters.

Filled up on all the delicious food we went to get our luggage and finished checking in. Then headed to our room to unpack... WHAT A ROOM!
It was huge!! In the entrance hall there was a mini fridge, a big, spacious closet and the door to a HUGE bathroom. A double sink with a mirror across whole the wall, a bathtub which we could fit in with the two of us easily, a toilet and lots, lots, lots of space. In the room there were two low closets, which both contained a bed for one person. TWO televisions, 2 beds, a desk and chair and a sitting corner with two sofas and a coffee table. Oh and the bathroom had a hairdryer too!
Needless to say we LOVED the room, it was so big! Beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets provided in the hallway closet.

We slept like babies and really had a lovely weekend. We spent a day in Nieuwpoort and half one in Plopsaland De Panne which were both enjoyable trips out. Our day of departure we headed for Blankenberge and the rest of the stay we spent shoppings and walking in Ostend.

Breakfast was more then enough to fill yourself up with and tasty. I loved the croissants, they were a tad sweeter then in most places. Further you had normal bread, bread rolls, pains au chocolate, croissants with raisins, butter, margarine, different kinds of jam, chocolate spread, cheese, ham, salami, spreadable cheese, spreadable speculoos, honey, ... Really everything you could possibly think of to have for breakfast. For hot choices there were boiled eggs, omelets, omelets with pieces of bacon in it. I personally am more a fan of scrambled eggs and slices of bacon yet that's a person choice.

For evening meals we didn't have anymore in the hotel seeing as the menu wasn't really or style. Do note that I am a very fussy eater, which was more the problem then the menu of the hotel. The second evening it was Indian night and there was lamb and fish on the menu. I eat neither so we decided to eat out. Third evening I didn't like the meat dish neither so we went out again. Yet not the hotel's fault, I'm just fussy when it comes to meat and fish and I don't like vegetarian dishes!

Our room was always clean when we came back to it in the afternoon, clean sheets and towels provided.

Basically: A wonderful weekend, again, and you should just try it out for yourself. There is NO better hotel in ostend then this one, I guarantee you!

P.S: We've been looking to go again in the next two weekends yet what did you expect, both fully booked... So now we're looking at end of June to go again. We don't want any other hotel in Ostend anymore, Ostend hotel is the only option for us!
