One night in Ostend. Perfect night in Ostend.

The upstairs is brilliant. Contemporary. Clean. Comfortable. It’s different, and has a perfect location just off the promenade.

Rooms are clean, excellent beds and pillows, bathroom with monsoon shower and lots of towels. Smart TV, usb chargers, decent WiFi.... all the mod cons.

The communal areas are great, and very child friendly.... slide, ping pong, table football.... order your drinks from reception. 24/7.

The restaurant wasn’t open when we visited, but so many restaurants close by that was no issue.

Tips : if driving, pull up and unload outside the hotel, indigo parking on the main rd 1min walk away. €22.50 for 24hrs.
Breakfast. Try Sanseveria bagels. Few mins walk away, and fantastic!

We went here for a business event and stayed with a large number of colleagues in this hotel. When I arrived, there were 4 employees at the front desk. They did not even take note of me and kept on talking among themselves. Only after a while on person actually looked at me so I could have her help me. The room was big and nice, but details were so so. When I got into the shower I saw three hairs hanging from the wall which weren't mine, so the bathroom was not cleaned properly. Even though they said to have opened June 2018 but why is the plaster already scrapped of the walls on the corners and the wooden floor with scratches from the bed being dragged over it? it feels in the end superficial and gimmicky rather than a nice and dynamic hotel. I have been to other urban concept hotels across the world but this is a poor version of it. Plus the fact this is an urban concept and possibly caters to the younger crowd, that does not mean the staircase has to look like the painters just left the building.
Breakfast was very nice though and it is very centrally located. Beds are big and very nice. oh another weird thing: the lights turn on when you put your card in a wall socket... but normally when you take it out, you have a few minutes with the lights on. Not in this place.... the lights immediately turn off and the room is pitch black... not very user friendly. And the shelf in the shower is located in a weird spot. it hardly leaves room for your arms to move around in the shower. AND the soap dispenser did not provide any soap....so all in all....so so so so so quality.

First class hotel with unusual decor. Rooms are impressive and clean. Imagine Dragons Den but its in a hotel, thats the style. Its very effective and completely different to anywhere stayed before.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cant say the same about the restaurant though. OK it was a Sunday night but the service and the food was shocking. Only a choice of Pizza or Nachos. Went with the Nachos which were first of all served heated up with no cheese and 2 teaspoons of cream. It was like eating sawdust. Sent them back only for the same plate to be returned with a bit of sauce dribbled over the top.
14 Euro's for a bag of tasteless Tortilla chips with not a lot more is truly taking the pee. Such a pity as the hotel is worthy of something a lot better.
