We stayed in Le Parisien for 7 nights while participating the conference in Ostend. The hotel occupy 3-floor house with attics where our room was. On the ground floor there is stylish and cosy reastaurant where the delicious breakfast is served. The reception lady is very charitable and ministering though we found it difficult to communicate in English. After all we succeeded because she speaks Russian rather well. The room was nice and smartly furnishing, all clean and fit, but alas, no place for soap and shampoo to put on in the shower. The big advantage of the hotel is its location, only 10 minutes of walking from the railway station and 5 minutes from the strand. Since the local market is deployed at the square nearby twice a week, attention must be paid to the car owners: the parking might be tricky. To sum up, for us it was the good cost/benefit choice.

For the price we paid, it was worth 5 dots. But for the price they asked next night (double), I would have given only 1 dot. Light room with heigh ceiling. Curtains you not could sweep away, blocking the view. Most terrible pillows. Very dirty stairs. Central location. Expensive breakfast. Expensive parking. Nice town for a tourist.

The hotel is a simple 3 star but has all the commodities (except for air co). The welcome is friendly and the adjacent café excellent (this is where breakfast is served). Mid day pit stop of a nice ice latté and other goodies also a bonus. The location is 'formidable". Walking distance to everything. Excellent restaurants in diagonal to the right of the hotel also very appreciated. Will be back

This hotel has evidently changed hands recently and has been undergoing a refurb. There is no reception desk as such, you wait in the well patronised tearooms for someone to give you a room key. Ours (205) didn't work, so down to the tearooms again and even the patron had difficulty opening the door. Waited again this time in the corridor until he reappeared with key for 104 - again a room overlooking the square but no bath. The room had been recently re-decorated and was very clean but there was no heating or towel rail in the bath room ; since it was a windy cold night this was a bit inconvenient. Nice view over the square but be warned - on market days the market starts setting up at 4.30am and lorries etc and stalls being erected will awaken you. Breakfast was plastic cheese, plastic ham, cold hard boiled eggs and crispy hard white rolls. OK for one night and give him his due, the patron was genuinely apologetic about the room fiasco. I think this place is on the up and we'd be prepared to give it another chance.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking square noisy on market days

Very ok, excellent location, very friendly staff, very clean and very warm, public parking very close by, breakfast was very good for a continental but we’ve had much better, most things were in working order but a good coat of TLC would’ve helped. The bed, well, we slept well, but it was two single beds with a double mattress and bizarrely two lots of single bedding! Gappy! That said we’d go again.
