Our stay was fantastic, couldn’t of picked a better location and house to facilitate my family and friends. Just a short 15 minute walk to the Square where we had an excellent time celebrating my friends 50th birthday and the beer festival the next day. The beds were very comfortable with enough room to support seven people easily, two showers and a renovated kitchen perfect for cooking a country breakfast to start the day! Easy access once we got there with no issues at all, we definitely recommend and would stay here again!
Huize Hertog is an immaculate townhouse in a nice quiet area of Bruges just a 20 min walk from the old town. We received lots of helpful information from the owner Julie prior to our stay and she was happy to answer any questions that we had. The location is great with parking right outside the door and supermarkets and bakery's within walking distance. We were a group of 4 adults and a small child and there was lots of space- the bedrooms are large with plenty of seating space downstairs in the kitchen and lounge. A cot and highchair for the baby was provided and the whole place was immaculate. We wouldn't hesitate to book the house again. Thanks!
Julie was great, updated us and gave us all the information we needed. House is wonderful, pretty, clean and supplies coffee - always important! This was a family treat and it really was such a great weekend and that would not have been possible with this great find! Close to train station and 20 minute or less (depending on how many bakeries you call into!) to centre of old Bruges town. Aldi is also just round the corner! Thank you so much, would definitely recommend!
The house was everything we hoped for and exactly as in the photos.
Light , spacious, Julie had thought of everything.
Lots if great information about Bruges.
Great directions for getting into the house.
Parking and a friendly neighbour.
As others have written, this is a bright, spotless, spacious house for enjoying Bruges and surrounding area. Our group of 4 60+ women could not walk to Bruges Centrum, but took advantage of the parking/free shuttle from the train station, a short drive from the house. Our hostess, Julie, not only answered all questions before and during our stay promptly, but also provides informative "house" books with details and suggestions for shopping, restaurants, attractions, etc. The house has 3 American queen beds, a nice surprise. The bath facilities include a toilet/sink on the ground floor; toilet/sink/shower on the 1st floor; and a large shower/sink on the 2nd floor. All very modern. The kitchen is well supplied with new appliances. The only "caveat", also mentioned by another guest is the lack of side table(s) by each bed for glasses, watches, etc. We enjoyed the neighborhood of St. Andries and the easy access to the highway for our visits to Ypres, Damme and Ghent. The New Townhouse and Bruges made for a very special holiday.
This house is no doubt one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. The decor is minimalist but stylish and the layout is perfect either for a family or a group of friends. The location is slightly out of the centre of Bruges and takes about twenty minutes to walk into the main area but we prefer to be in a quieter situation and this was perfect for us. Both bathrooms were very luxurious and the top loft bedroom was huge - also offering a living area at one end of the room! The other two bedrooms were spacious too. Bedside tables would have been nice but other than that, this house was absolutely perfect!!! We loved Bruges and when we visit again, we will definitely be coming back to Huize Hertog
