Description: The Restaurant Patrick Devos is housed in a historic building in the heart of Bruges. According to earliest sources available, dating from around the year 1300, the house was a refuge of the Ghent-based Saint Peter's Abbey. Behind the beautiful late-Gothic facades one discovers authentic Art Nouveau and Art Deco salons from 1900-1935, something which is unique for Bruges. The Art Deco dining room was completely designed by the renowned Ateliers d'Art de Courtrai De Coene Freres. Adjacent to it is a breathtaking Louis XVI salon. Behind the house the intimate winter garden can be found dating from the early 1900's and laid out in an Arts and Crafts style. These treasures of the interior arts form the setting for your gastronomic experience in Bruges. The Restaurant Patrick Devos serves seasonal dishes which stand out for their inventiveness, attractive presentation and harmonic blend of tastes. An exceptional method is used to compose the menus: first the wines are selected, and then a matching dish is created for each wine. Patrick Devos thus succeeds in achieving an optimal harmony between the wine and the meal. Patrick Devos has already won two awards for his carefully developed wine cellar, primarily stocked with New World wines. In 2000 he was named Wine Ambassador of the Year.

We have just had a fantastic meal at Patrick Davos. We took the 3 course menu with wine along with 4 amuse bouche tasters and petti fours great value at 60 euros or £50 a head . Classy surrounding good service well worth a visit.

The restaurant is situated close to one of the main squares in Bruges down a pleasant side street, at the top of the street a nice bar/ restaurant for a ore dinner drink Cathedral which featured in the film In Bruges.

The restaurant is like a private dining club, pre dinner drinks in the seating area are very present with two chefs favours very tasty. The A la Carte menu is expensive but the set menu four or six courses represents fantastic value. The wine list is extensive with a bias towards France or you can have a wine menu per course, we chose a very good Italian red.

The cod fish and razor clam starter was excellent but probably bettered by the following sea bass, the meat dish perfectly cooked lamb and a delicious desert completed the feast.

Service was very professional although whilst our glasses were never empty I prefer the wine bottle kept on the table rather than with the waiter, my one small complaint. Lighting is quite bright but still a good occasion venue.

Total bill of c180 euro for a fine dining experience and first class service in lovely surroundings represents value for money to me.

Well worth a visit.

We have had the pleasure of dining here three times now, and each visit has been memorable. The service is friendly and attentive without being "over the top" and the meals are always a pleasant surprise. When compared with some other Bruges high-end establishments, Patrick Devos is the best value for your money. I can't wait to enjoy the garden! Next time...

A big thank you to this lovely restaurant. I booked a meal for my dad's 60th birthday and it was really perfect.

The room is beautiful and in the summer I'm sure the terrace would be lovely. Most of us had the vegetarian menu, which was great - especially the starter with truffles. The wines were amazing and went very well with each course.

At the end of the meal a wonderful birthday cake was produced - it had lots of delicious layers and was really unexpected. I had told the restaurant it was a special birthday but I hadn't asked for a cake (and they didn't charge us extra), so it was really nice of them.

Also it is fantastic value when you consider Bruge is expensive. I've paid much more than this for similar meals in London.
