We ate at De Koetse on the recommendation of our hotel. Yipes! The restaurant itself is pleasant and cozy. The food...well. The fix-price for dinner hovers around 38 Euros, but beware: there are add-on charges for almost every dish. Want lamb? That will be another 3 to 5 Euros. Want lobster? Another 25. This is tourist food at its indifferent, lackluster worst. My wife had a fish skewer dish which was so tough as to be largely inedible. I had lamb which was largely flavorless. We went to dinner with few expectations, and we were proven wrong. Service was brusque to the point of unfriendliness. In a town filled with eating establishments that pander to the Nikon-wearing hoards, De Koetse is just another high-priced rip-off...
