This is a lovely hotel, small and intimate enough to ensure personal service, provided admirably by Hans and Magda. We used trip advisor to help guide us to a reasonably priced, well located hotel in Brugge and were not disappointed when we stayed at Bonobo. Rooms were simple but well appointed and comfortable. Everything that Brugge has to offer is literally on the doorstep of Bonobo and we will definitely return to this hotel when we revisit Brugge for the Christmas Markets.

Booked at the Bonobo on apart-hotel basis with breakfast, largely due to value for money offered and reviews on this website - wasn't at all disappointed! Location is very convenient - about 10 mins walk from rail station (travelled by Eurostar, which was also very good value for money and recommended) and 5 mins from the main attractions in the centre of Brugges. Room was good size and extremely clean, with everything needed for a short stay. Although room was on road, the road is not very busy at all - in fact, it is almost an insult when a car drives past! Bathroom is a good size with plenty of hot water, and beds very comfortable. Have to confess that being able to get some British channels on TV was a bonus after hours of stomping the tourist trails. Breakfast selection was good and fresh. Always knew that owners were around to ask any questions/help with anything, but they weren't 'in your face' in any way. Terrace was very nice but unfortunately the weather didn't make it possible to use much on our stay. Bonus to have a City Card given with discounts for major attractions, so don't need to buy this before you go - comes as part of stay along with a free drink at a restaurant on the Markt which is good value. We really enjoyed eating at Lotus on Wapenmakersstraat (largely veggie with some organic meat dishes, freshly made, good value and delicious); Marieke Van Brugghe‎ on Mariastraat and opposite Our Lady (lovely coffees as well as decent set menu meals); and in Walplein both Salad Folle and one opposite there beginning with T (!) both of which offered good value set menus with very fresh and varied menus.

My husband and I have just returned from a May bank holiday 3 night stay in Brugges and couldn't fault our accommodation. We stayed at Bonobo on a self catering basis, in one of the small apartments that fronted onto Goezeputstraat. We particularly liked:

* the beds - really comfortable with crisp clean bed linen
* the very well equipped kitchenette
* the location - within a few minutes walk from the main square and nightlife - yes, there is nightlife in Brugge! (head to Eiermarkt square, just behind the main Markt square for lively bars playing house, r'n'b and euro pop/trance)
* the decked area to the rear of the property - really nice for a drink or two after sightseeing (the fridges are pretty big, so bring your own wine for cheeky drinks in the evening before going out)

Bonobo is no frills, but for 237 Euros for 3 nights accommodation (including car parking) its very credit crunch friendly. We travelled by car, using eurotunnel, so all in all, it was a really low cost break.

We stumbled across a really great restaurant called L'ACCIDENT DE COMPTOIR on Mallebergplaats, to the north east of the over priced restaurants in Markt and Burg squares. If you're looking for thoughtful home cooked food in a cosy atmosphere then you should definitely visit this place. Its a french bistro with simple, rustic dishes cooked to order and a great wine list. Our pasta dishes were amazing (one seafood with huge prawns and mussels, one bacon and creamy tomato sauce with a touch of chili) and followed by (complimentary) homemade limoncello. All for 23 Euros. Its a real hidden gem in this city.

We stayed here for a city break from 22-25 April and were allocated a large apartment on a B&B basis. Magda & Hans are really helpful, friendly hosts and they provided us with lots of useful local information including restaurant recommendations & we were not disappointed. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed, lovely clean & crisp bed linen & comfortable beds. Breakfast was on a buffet basis and continental and the food was fresh, good quality and plentiful every morning with a good choice to set you up for the day. Bruges is pretty and there is lots to do & see by foot and it is nice being somewhere where there are hardly any cars. As you would expect the beer in Belgium is amazing, the choice is huge and there is something for every taste. We would recommend this hotel to friends & family and it is in a nice quiet location close enough to get to all the attractions in Bruges but far enough away to have a peaceful undisturbed nights sleep.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bruges and the Bonobo hotel. Our room had a glorious view of St. Salvador's Cathedral and was close to good restaurants and the Markt. Our hosts were warm and friendly and serve a great and filling breakfast. I was really impressed by the cleanliness of the room, particularly the linens - they were so crisp and fresh they could have been brand new!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights on our most recent trip to Bruges. It was 110 Euro per night (offseason) for a small room with a private bathroom.

The owners, Hans and Magda were exceptional hosts- warm and inviting. The breakfast every morning was diverse and unquestionably good, as far as continental breakfasts go. Upon check-in they gave us a discount card for staying at a hotel withing the historic district of Bruges, and this came in handy quite a bit, lowering our entrance fees by 30-50% at most attractions throughout the city.

The establishment itself is super-clean, and it's contemporary design contrasts the old medieval architecture throughout the rest of the city. The rooms and the rest of the hotel aren't steeped in luxury per-say, but they are certainly more than adequate, and pleasing to the eye. The bed was very comfortable, although our 'king size' bed was really two twins side-by-side. Noise was very well controlled; We never heard any of our neighbors.

The location was absolutely FANTASTIC. We were just a couple minutes walk from the city center, and a stone's throw from a lot of the museums. Any closer to the city center, and it would have been much nosier when trying to sleep. Frankly, I couldn't think of a better location in Bruges!

We paid to use their parking lot, and that was quite convenient for facilitating excursions outside of the city.

All in all, we loved our experience at the Bonobo and we would certainly seek a room here upon our return to Bruges!
