“Dare I say FAULTLESS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful apartments, excellently equipped. Had a lovely view of the spires. So close to the centre of things. Hosts so helpful. No need to choose any where else as the prices are so reasonable. If I was being extra picky I might have wished for a slightly more"sink into me" more comfortable couch in the lounge, but really you spend most time out of the apartment and might as well go to bed exhausted rather than sit anyway. Seriously good place to stay and the hosts make you feel safe in their care. Bruges , said Brugga is an excellent, friendly destination and the Bonobo helps that along.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable 5 night stay in Bruges and what a perfect place to stay for the duration. The high points are numerous but I will try and give them all;
1. Magda and Hans are brilliant and so helpful. Its like having your own "experts" to hand. Thanks for everything from guide books to advice, to printing GB for our car to telling us about Bakeries..oh and the discount card.
2. The hotel is very clean and pretty with a lovely terrace for sitting out and drinking/reading or just chilling.
3. The location of the Bonobo is absolutely perfect and within 1 minutes walk to the Picasso gallery and the beautiful "Church of Our Lady".
4. The apartment we were in was the XXL on the top floor. The views of the city are amazing with 2 of the spires visible from it. It is spacious and clean with a lovely big bathroom with colour coding for towels (nice touch.) The kitchenette is well equipped with a hob, microwave, kettle, fridge (not freezer), coffee machine with filters, pots, pans and all other stuff mentioned .
5. There is secure car parking available which we used and there is a small fee for this.
6. There is a seriously cool lift which I loved using when I would normally take the stairs!!

Negatives: Nothing really but if I was being really picky..
1. XXL only really fits 5 comfortably as the others are sofa-beds, which are in the open-plan area.
2. Bells rang every morning at 8:35 which I believe are to signify the start of the working day, so be warned,

Overall a superb apart-hotel, justifiably a "winner" on TA

We stayed four nights in an XL apartment in August 2013. It was our first foreign holiday with our 11 month old daughter. The apartment was a very good size and the owners had a really nice travel cot made up for us and a high chair on hand. Our first impression walking into the apartment was how clean it was which is probably the most important consideration when self-catering especially with a baby. The kitchen was well equipped - there was a hob, microwave and fridge and plenty of plates, pots and cutlery. The bathroom was spacious and the shower pressure was great. The only downsides for us was that there was a family in an apartment above us making lots of noise at 11pm every night and the noise travelled down. We also had a few mosquitos inside (probably our own fault for naively removing the window net for a minute before closing the window!) - we bought a plug in device for €6.50 and a fly swatter and that was that! The location in Bruges is excellent. We would stay in the Bonobo if visiting Bruges again and there is no higher compliment than that.

Really well located hotel - right in the centre, but off on a side street so not too busy. My partner and I stayed in a self-catering apartment for four nights which was great. The bedroom had a en suite bathroom - both clean and supplied with sheets and plenty of towels. There was also a living area with sofa, tv, dining table and small kitchen - everything we needed to cater for ourselves on days we didn't want to eat out. There is also a lovely outside terrace that we used when we wanted to eat outside. The hosts were fantastic - very welcoming, and on arrival gave us use of a guide book, map and a list of recommended restaurants, etc. Magda and Hans made it clear they were there to help, which was very much appreciated. All in all, a fantastic stay, and highly recommended.

Room Tip: The room we had which was on the ground floor at the front of the property. We could often hear peop...

Right in the centre of Bruges. Very friendly concierge, Hans and his wife welcomed us on arrival with guide book, map and discount card for use against tourist attractions. Apartment has 3 single beds in one room for kids and 2 singles in other. Clean white sheets and comfy beds. Small kitchenette with salt, pepper, oil, washing up liquid, cloths and tea towel. Fridge, microwave, hob and sink. Dining table and lounge area lead to large bathroom with hairdryer. Bath and hand towel for each person. Very clean and tidy throughout with a very warm welcome. Recommend Gruuthuse Hof as a good value but great quality and service restaurant.

The 5 of us (parents, 2 small children and grandma) stayed in one of the apartments for two nights in early June. We were late in arriving; the couple that own the apartments very graciously awaited our arrival to check us in, show us around and help bring in our luggage. It was a most comfortable apartment, with an outstanding location, very handy to walk to all the attractions. There were two bedrooms, one bath, a living area, a dining area and a small kitchenette. They had a locked parking area adjacent to the apartment/hotel.

Room Tip: It was very quiet and the windows opened at the top to a view of beautiful old buildings.

Our reservation at the Bonobo was for five nights. We drove down from Dunkerque and after brilliant directions from Hans, easily found our way through the narrow streets to the hotel. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Hans and Magda and after parking our car in the secure car park at the side of the building, we were shown to our apartment. This was in a lovely location on the ground floor with its own little courtyard with umbrella, table and chairs. The apartment was spotlessly clean with fresh white bed linen and comfortable beds. Bathroom had a bath tub with shower over and lashings of hot water. The kitchenette was well provided for and sufficiently equipped to cook a meal. Supermarkets in Bruges are within a few minutes walk so you don't have to carry shopping over a long distance. The location of the Bonobo is excellent being handily placed for the lovely deli's where you can buy penne pasta and other mouth-watering take-away's.
There is a good reading and reference library in reception and the book on Bruges which Hans let us use during our stay, is current and extremely informative. If you are feeling energetic, it is worthwhile doing the three walks listed, as this is a great way to see the city and all its lovely architecture. Bruges is a beautiful city and in our opinion is one of the best in Europe, We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would not hesitate to return to the Bonobo for our next visit. Highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: The Bonobo is in a very quiet street/location. I would imagine all rooms are quiet. My tip would be...
