We spent three wonderful nights here and Caroline was fantastic. She helped us choose wonderful places for dinner and made our reservations. We had a beautiful room with the view of the blooming garden and the canal. Of course, we loved the dogs. The breakfasts were a great start to our day. Even though the weather was not good, we had a wonderful stay in Bruges mostly because of our great time at Cote Canal.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Cote Canal, as other reviewers have said, Caroline makes you feel very much at home and nothing is too much trouble for her. The room (Clin d'Oeil) was spacious, bed was really comfortable and shower/bath great. We slept very well, the location is very peaceful despite being a stones throw from the hussle and bussle of the town. It's nice to have the lounge and garden to use during your stay and location couldn't be better. We liked it so much we're planning to go back in a few months once we've sorted out dates etc!

We have stayed in a number of great B & Bs over the years, and Cote Canal is one of the best, with the most helpful owner. We stayed 3 nights in one of the attic rooms with a nice view over the canal. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and spotless. Very calm and relaxing feeling. Nice bathroom. Comfy bed with nice linens.
The owner, Caroline, has a passion for her business and goes out of her way to make sure each guest has a wonderful experience in her house and in Bruges. She starts with a nice welcome, asks about your interests, and makes helpful suggestions for things to see and restaurants you might like. She gladly makes reservations. She also helped us make a reservation in a place to stay the next night in southern Belgium.
Breakfasts were fabulous--coffee, tea, breads, cheeses, meats, eggs, fresh fruit, orange juice, yogurt, cereal, .... We had a lot of rain, but the sun shone on our last morning, and we were able to have breakfast out in the beautiful garden next to an incredible clematis cascading hundreds of pink blossoms down to the canal.
I can't recommend Cote Canal highly enough. (Just one note--you do need to be able to handle stairs, as this historic house does not have an elevator.)

My daughter and I stayed at this B & B for my birthday treat. What a treat it was! Caroline was charming, easy going, hip (!) intuitive and gracious. We felt comfortable and relaxed whilst still feeling that we retained our own privacy. Our room was spotlessly clean and stylishly designed - having all the mod cons and oozing old-wordly charm. The room was spacious and airy. We felt saddened that we were only able to stay one night!

There is little I can add to the universally wonderful reviews about Caroline's charming home, all of which are deserved. We spent the night in the vey spacious 3rd floor room with modern amenities in this charming, historical B&B braving the cold, rainy late spring weather. Caroline could not have been a more gracious hostess, providing each guest with tips on making the most of his or her visit, and starting the day with a beautifully presented delicious breakfast in her home. Only sorry we could not have stayed longer.

This boutique B&B represents a great value. Located on a narrow and quiet cobblestoned street is tucked away between the street and a beautiful canal. Yet it is within 5 minutes walk of the central plaza in Bruges. The garden is magnificent and well tended.

The room we were in (second floor) was ample, with high ceilings and great view yet with modern shower and conveniences.

The breakfast was great with classical French taste and the breads were out of this world.

The owner, Caroline, was helpful. She seemed a little harried but that may be due to the stress of running a B&B in Belgium, which evidently has a lot of requirements and specifications that may not be needed in other countries.

Nevertheless, Caroline was very accommodating in preparing an early breakfast for our departure and arranging taxi to train station and helping out in recommending good places to drink the delicious Belgian beer and pointing out other places of interest.

Room Tip: Choose a room with view of garden and canal but there are probably no bad rooms here.

It is difficult to add anything new to say about this amazing B&B and equally amazing hostess. I agree with every rave review given - the home is beyond beautiful with amazing furnishings; its location along the canal is perfect - close enough to the markt but at the same time, in a tranquil setting. We relaxed with an afternoon beer in the courtyard overlooking the canal. We found Caroline to be absolutely delightful - she provided a great overview to Bruges, advising against tourist traps and recommending worthwhile activities. We found her to be funny, smart and very caring all at once. She provides an amazing breakfast and taught some of us how to make her grandmother's hot chocolate. When I contacted Caroline, she did not have a room that was available for all three nights of our proposed stay but she did offer us one room for two nights and a different room for our third night. It was no trouble at all to move rooms - we are certainly glad that we accepted that contingency - I would have hated to miss out on the opportunity to stay at Cote Canal. It turns out that we loved both rooms that we stayed in and were actually sad when it was time to leave.
