“Fantastic little b&b in the centre of Bruges”
Reviewed July 13, 2012

We stayed in the Oval room and loved it. Really fantastic location, decoration and the owner was amazingly helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone in Bruges - stayed for a night and paid €135 (about £105 July 2012) - was definitely worth it. It's about a two minute walk to all the main stuff to see, but it is down a side street so nice and quiet. Breakfast was great, nice fruit, pastries, bread, tea, juice etc.

B&B Sint Niklaas is a very charming B&B, ideally located in the center of Bruges; close to the Railway Station. With not too much luggage it is a nice 10 to 15 minutes’ walk.
The building was renovated in 2007. The reception area, lounge & breakfast areas are furnished in antique and classic styles and colors. Breakfast is delicious!
Three good sized rooms, situated on two floors are each uniquely appointed with wooden floors, are beautifully decorated and furnished, quiet, light, with nice views each varying in size and lay-out.
You sleep very comfortably in good sized double beds. The chaise lounges, desk, TV. and modern sanitary facilities are luxurious.
Two rooms come with full bathrooms including bath tub and shower; the third one has a large shower area. In one room the bed is in a cozy loft.
Anne Windel, the owner, is an excellent host. She is sets her standards high which assures you of a stay you will never forget.
My second stay was more enjoyable in this really “ Home-Away-From-Home! Highly recommended ..

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights in April for a romantic mini-break. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Bruges about a 5 minute walk to the main square. The manager was really accommodating, recommending restaurants and making reservations for us. The room was lovely, very large with big windows and views of the clock tower. The bathroom offered a shower and free-standing bath. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of the fact that our en suite had been built within the original master bedroom so had walls that didn't quite enclose the bathroom, leaving less privacy for doing ones business but thankfully we've been together long enough for this not to be a real problem so unless this is a serious issue for you, please don't let it put you off, however for some couples this might not be ideal. The house itself was beautiful, traditional and really nicely furnished. The breakfasts in the morning were really delicious too. We really enjoyed our stay here and feel that the owner puts a lot of thought and effort into making this an outstanding place to stay.

Room Tip: If the bathroom scenario I mention in my review is not preferred, then perhaps request a different r...

My husband and I just got back from a two week trip to Paris, Bruges, and Amsterdam. We stayed at this wonderful B&B for two nights and both agreed it was our favorite accommodation the entire trip. Anne was a great host and very welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the rooftop room and it was larger than I was expecting with a huge bed! Bottled water in the room free of charge and a coffee maker with tea and coffee. Mini bar downstairs in the main room with beer and wine. The breakfast in the morning was one of our favorite parts. Fresh squeezed OJ, fruit, croissants, bread, jam, yogurt, cereal, and an assortment of meat and cheeses. Anne also made us cooked to order eggs each day which was a nice touch.
Anyone who is visiting Bruges and wants a clean, comfortable and welcoming place to stay this is it. Thanks Anne for your wonderful hospitality.

Very nice location right off the main square. We had a lovely room witha view of the clock tower. It felt likea traditional B&B, with a great breakfast in the morning. The only complaint was the the room we were staying in (the oval room) had a bit of a strange set up with the bathroom. It was an addition to the room and for some reason the walls do not go up to the ceiling, which does not give you complete privacy when you are in the washroom or shower. There is a huge soaker tub in the bathroom, which was great and nice bath products.

This was our second stay at Sint Niklaas. We stayed two years ago, loved the B & B and promised to return. This time we were traveling with my sister-in-law and her husband, on their first trip to Europe. Bruges was the perfect starting point, and Sint Niklaas was as wonderful as we remembered. Anne was so welcoming and again I can't say enough about her breakfast. Lovely fresh breads and eggs cooked to order, alongside fruit, cheeses, yogurt and an orange marmalade that started something of an obsession for my husband and I. It was lovely to feel so at home in our beautiful rooms, which were cleaned beautifully every day. Anne was very helpful with directions and her dinner recommendations and assistance with reservations was invaluable. We had two memorable meals, one at Sale & Pepe and the other at bistro 't klein genoegen. My thanks to Anne for her gracious hospitality.

Room Tip: We have stayed in the Belfort and the Rooftop rooms and both are lovely. I really enjoyed the tub i...

We only stayed one night at this great B&B, and wished we could have stayed longer! The Sint Niklaas is in a great location in Bruges, we found it easily, and the owner welcomed us in a friendly way. She was happy to make restaurant recommendations. Our room was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. The included breakfast was delicious and just enough. I can heartily recommend this lovely spot, and hope to stay again at the Sint Niklaas in Bruges!
