Excellent 4 day stay, staff really obliging and friendly. Although we booked the annex because of tea and coffee facilities and free bikes, on arrival were put in main hotel. Room was fairly smallish and wardrobe tiny, but we had a kitchenette, everything was clean, beds were really, but really comfortable. Always plenty of hot water for showers/bath. Electric convector heater but no air con, so might be a bit hot in summer. If you are thinking of self catering (and restaurants are quite expensive, E20 on average per meal) you might find utencils a bit lacking, and no fridge, but I'm sure if you just ask...... Breakfast was really good too, plenty of choice, continental of course, but with choice of 5 cereals and toast available. The terrace roof garden is small, but a lovely place. Hotel easy to find, parked at train station E2.50 for 24 hrs and got free bus to Market Square, where hotel is. Enjoyed the free bikes!

The front desk attendant helped us out immensely, went above and beyond the call of duty when we had a problem and was just generally wonderful. However, the room was old, smelled bad, had mold in the bathroom and on the ceiling and the beds were simply terrible. The wi-fi didn't reach our room, the free parking was in a garage only accessible at certain times and hard to drive in and out of. The breakfast was quite good, in an interesting cellar with cool vaulted ceilings, but overall I certainly would not stay here again. If you find old, dirty, run-down places charming, I suppose this might qualify. While the location can't be beat, walk a little bit and I'd bet you can find way better places to stay.

I stayed here whilst visiting bruge and have to say that the location was excellent you are litterally steps away from the markt. The hotel was very dated and every thing about the rooms are small my pillow was the size of a postage stamp. i had read reviews and kinda knew what the hotel was like. the breakfast was nice mostly continental with a few boiled eggs and beans.
If you have a car the hotel charges 20 euros per night but i parked the car in the underground carpark by the trainstation and it cost 8 euros from 2pm till 10am the next day it was only a short walk from the hotel.
Overall the hotel was in a great location and i would stay here again.

The staff were very polite, and the room and service was great - until it came to sleeping at the hotel (which I guess is the whole point...!) We were put in a room above the neighbouring bar. We did not get any sleep due to it being karaoke night and so felt awful the next day. Although the staff were polite, they didn't seem to see anything wrong with charging us 75 euro for a sleepless night - you would think the room might come with a warning (I can see it may be acceptable to clubbers)

It's a rip-off. The photos on the internet look nice, but you will be disappointed by reality. This hotel will make you sick. The rooms are cold and the tiny bathrooms will be all wet after a shower. Overall, very uncomfortable, very bad atmosphere and hopeless service: Complaints are not taken seriously, since the manager is never there and nobody else can make decisions.
There are many great places in Bruges to go to. This is not one of them.

This place was great for location. We ordered a double room for two nights and ended up with two single beds pushed together and one of the mattresses was terribly soft. They were good about doing something about it and by the time we got back it was a double bed with a decent mattress. Bedding wasn't warm enough and on the second night they took away the extra blanket. Finding the breakfast room was annoying- what a maze, one of the lights in the hallways wasn't working so was completely pitch black- they should do a deal with the restaurant next door at ground level for use in the mornings. The breakfast staff weren't pleasant and would help if they spoke better english. We stayed in the annex which was ok, except there was a hole in the floor covered up with carpet and the ceiling outside our room door was uncovered so that the roof was exposed. The heater in our room wasn't working so I had to get that replaced.
This is OK fro a short break if you want to deal with all this.

great location. Near the bell tower -- which stops from 10 pm until 7:00 a.m.. Hearty breakfast in the basement, was easy to find if you followed the signs. Furniture showing it's age, but who spends that much time in the room anyway. Do find the screen for the window and use it. First night we didn't and were visited by mosquitoes. Pub in the courtyard can be noisy and it's schedule is undetermined. But it's also a great place to stop on you way back to the hotel for one more Belgian ale! Our room was small, others at our conference had much larger rooms. Check to make sure you get refrigerator for the cheeses you buy at the town square market --just steps away.
