Came here as a couple for my birthday in March. Great restaurant, very amusing and eccentric host. fantastic food. I loved that there was no huge menu and just the blackboard with the small list of the nights choices. I trusted that they would all be excellent, and they were. The scallop risotto was perfect. One warning: after a bottle of red, champagne and beer, try not to hug the trees in the park on the way home.
Also - most awesome bathroom in any restaurant ever.

Highly recommended.

We ate at the Pomperlut twice last last month. We were able to do so twice because we showed up at the time of our reservations. The second reservation was booked after we had dined at the Pomperlut because the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant and its "staff" on the first night were excellent. The second night was no different.

On both nights, we watched as Peter turned away walk-ins because of his limited seating capacity and we even discussed with him the impact of the two TA reviews that were highly negative solely because the reviewers failed to show up on time for their reservation (for whatever reason). Indeed, how a restaurant patron could be "totally disappointed" without having tasted the food or wine there is a mystery. This is our point-of-view and not Peters.

Pomperlut is a twenty seat, former farmhouse restaurant with a necessarily strict but straight forward reservation policy, namely show up for your reservation on time or lose it. The owner Peter is the entire front of the restaurant: i.e. reservations, Maitre'D, waiter, bartender, busboy and dishwasher. We observed him as he worked and clearly he has no time to interrupt on-going service to dining patrons to call in order to determine the whereabouts of missing reservation holders (who do not have the common sense to call). So for those who are looking for excellent food, excellent service and a wonderul atmosphere, call, make a reservation and show up on time. For those who may find themselves delayed for unforseen circustances, do not ruin your own evening. Don't assume. Pick up the phone and call if you are delayed.

We stumbled on this charming restaurant quite by accident, liked the look of it and decided to return for an evening meal. From the moment we entered we felt transported to another world, with its atmosphere or unpretentious charm and hospitality. The food was excellent, the service thoughtful and responsive, and the whole environment intimate and homely.
The highlight of our stay.

We made a booking at Pomperlut for a Saturday evening at 8pm having researched favourable reviews on this website. Total disappointment. Despite confirming our booking well in advance and again on the day before arrival, the owner decided simply to give away our table. We arrived merely 15 minutes late having had to take shelter from the rain and co-ordinate the meeting of two independent couples. No attempt was made to contact us. This ruined our evening as it was too late to make a second reservation anywhere popular. We urge fellow customers who value the importance of the reservation system to avoid Pomperlut and to show them the same level of contempt. A terribly poor example of customer service.

The meal was lovely - very well cooked, but what made it so lovely was the atmosphere/environment. Highly recommended.
