Station is well situated for those visiting by rail - only about half a mile through the beautiful Minnewater paths and past the Beginage to the old town centre.
Whilst we were there we visited the seasonal Ice Sculpture pavilion (until 5th January) in the Sationplein, this year based on the new Disney film "Frozen". Both children and adults wil love it. Beautiful works of art: you have to admire the skill and courage - working in temperatures 6' below freezing! There is an ice "throne" for photo opportunities (if you can sit there for long enough!), an ice bar (and an ice slide too?) and a cafe serving hot food and drinks when you eventually escape! As it says on the leaflet:don’t forget to keep your gloves and woolly hat close at hand. Warm clothing is definitely recommended!
