Like many others we were in a party with Riviera Travel visiting Bruges and this hotel was part of the package.
Our room was on the first floor and next to the lift. The room was small but ok for our needs - we don't spend much time in the hotel.
The location of the hotel is fine, being near to a square with lots of restaurants. It's a short walk to the central square and attractions so we found the hotel convenient.
The included breakfast was adequate to set you up for the day.

This was our first trip to Bruges and we will make further visits to this beautiful city. Equally it was our first trip with Riviera and not our last the break was well organised and a pleasure from start to finish.
Overall the hotel is an average small hotel that I certainly would use again.

We were very impressed with the Golden Tree Hotel. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. The Bathroom was simple, but clean and spacious. Each room and bathroom had its own individual, adjustable heating. The breakfast that was included was amazing, everything from cereals and yoghurts, to fresh eggs that you could boil yourself and cold meats and cheese.

This is not a fancy hotel, but had everything we needed. The only things I would say did not impress me were the pillows which were a bit lumpy and the bed was a bit soft for my liking, but that boils down to preference.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel had a great loctaion which was walking distance to food outlets, bars, shopping streets and the Main Markt. I would recommend staying in this hotel if you are going to visit Bruges on a budget.

Riviera Travel use this 3 star hotel for their Bruges breaks. The break is fine - the hotel a little lacking. Very lumpy pillows, tired bathroom fixtures and fittings, unfortunate sewage smell apparent in communal areas. Its in a good location but on a main dual carriageway, near one of the many squares. Limited view from our room (18), thin walls, but architecturally interesting. Adequate breakfast facilities and choices. Staff very friendly and speak good English, as do most people in Bruges. Three nights stay was plenty here. The whole place could be so much more but probably doesn't get the clientele is deserves.

Room Tip: Ask for pictures and locations, i.e. near stairs or the lift.

We were in a party of about 30 people.Registration was dealt with very efficiently. however our room was not really suitable for a 70 and 75 yr old.it was in the annexe and had 2 steps along the width of the room that had to be negotiated to get from bed to bathroom, not easy in the middle of the night! There was no lounge for guests in the evening only a few chairs in a corridor.Breakfasts were acceptable ,however when things ran out they were not replaced. We had to ask for a toilet roll and had no toiletries until day two. It wasn't a pleasant experience and it will make us very reluctant to travel with this company again.

Room Tip: Do not book into the annexe and make sure you have a book to read.

This hotel is just 5 minutes from the new market square with a variety of eateries and bars to enjoy. Our room was located in the annex of the hotel taking six step then another two steps before ascending 15 steep steps along a narrow corridor with velux type windows giving natural light. The light switch turns itself off so you need to be quick on your feet to your room before it switches on. Our room number 19 was large the twin beds were on a stage two steps up when you get in the room. The bedside lights are very high where the bed is very low. The bathroom has a good size bath with a shower over ,the shower screen is not high enough and everything gets soaked including the toilet roll. The toilet hadn't been cleaned and vomit was left under the seat. The towels were stained and hadn't been changed. On one occasion after having a bath the bath took an age to drain had to unscrew the plug. Breakfast was chaotic. Being part of a coach party the numbers overwhelmed the hotel. There was no order and guests dived in anyway they could. There are to many chairs and tables to navigate around comfortably. Would recommed any future guests to take their own travel kettle or similar as there are no fascilities in the room. The tv has one english channel. The owner looks very tired. The room was hot even with the heating off, the window is very high you need to be a giant to get a view. Not suitable for people with mobility problems.
