Have just returned home from a fabulous trip to beautiful Bruges made all the more special because of our stay at this lovely family run hotel which is ideally positioned to enjoy all the delights of this city. So close to the Markt where you must climb the belfry to take in the amazing view and where you can hire bikes for a great day touring the city.
Veronique and her mother made us feel very welcome and our room and the amazing continental breakfast with choice of additional eggs were both fabulous.
On leaving I mentioned I had had a lovely 50th birthday stay and she immediately dived into a room off her boutique producing a lovely little present for me and telling my husband he should have told her when he booked!
Just a little bit of advice.. Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard if possible. Our room overlooked the street and was noisy with the windows open and very close and hot with it closed.
Thank you Veronique for a lovely stay in your beautiful hotel.

Hotel Alegria is well located near the centre of Brugge. Behind an unassuming door is a warm and welcoming hotel that provides all the comforts of home. Without being intrusive, Veronique's attention to detail ensures that all is well. Her breakfasts, from the freshly squeezed orange juice, to the individually cooked eggs to the divine bread, pastries and hot coffee make breakfast the highlight of the day. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Alegria and in Bruges. Veronique is very proud of her home city and justifiably so. There is not much she does not know and is willing to share her knowledge and some family experiences.
She personally prepares and serves the best continental breakfast we have seen. Everything fresh and appetising.
The room, and rest of hotel, was trendy and literally over a boutique.
I would definitely stay here again if visiting Bruges, and that is a very strong possibility. Beautiful city and people.

Room Tip: Ask for room at back if you need quiet. Front was no problem for us, but Tour of Flanders under window could disturb some.

This was our second stay in Bruges but our first at hotel Alegria.

We were warmly welcomed by Veronique and her mother and given lots of useful information about the town and places to see. We were kindly offered help with our luggage which doesn't seem to happen much these days!

Our room was on the first floor and overlooked the courtyard garden at the back. It was very quiet, a good size and nicely furnished. The bed was enormous and very, very comfortable. Everyday the room was cleaned and tidied while we were out, which was nice.

Breakfast was excellent. A huge selection of fruit, yoghurt, fresh bread and pastries, ham and cheese which varied daily. Veronique will cook you an egg if you wish and brings fresh orange juice to your table. We sat and ate overlooking the garden which had lots of birds and interest.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is great, just a few minutes from the Markt and nearby shops. We deliberately chose the Alegria because we wanted a personal touch and not what you'll find in a large corporate hotel. So yes, there were some glitches with the WiFi on our floor, but really, how much trouble is it to go downstairs and use the service in the foyer? None at all. Especially because it is free and you are on holiday. We found Veronique was only too happy to help and and would definitely recommend the Alegria.

This hotel was in a perfect location on a small street close to the main square. The room was very comfortable and had a cottage-like flair to it. I was absolutely impressed on how kind the hotel owner was. The breakfast was also AMAZING. Wouldn't mind revisting charming Brugge and this hotel!
