“Clean, tidy, friendly and convenient”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

We were travelling as two old friends (both in our seventies) before travelling back to the UK following a week in Normandy. We spent four nights there. The directions they emailed to us were spot on. We arrived at 5 p.m. to a friendly welcome from a young lady who spoke perfect english (as well as at least two other languages) and who was very helpful regarding the use of trains and buses and the locations of local places to eat.. She also directed us to the roadside free public parking nearby which was about 5 minutes walk away. Our room was clean, tidy and bright overlooking the small garden outside the breakfast room The en-suite toilet and shower room were in separate rooms so both were not occupied by the same person at the same time (a real bonus). The hotel was about 20 minutes stroll away from the shopping streets and main square of Bruges and also from the railway station which we used to visit Ostende (15 minutes by train) and Brussels (60 minutes away). We had no problem with reception as there was always someone on duty in the late afternoon/ early evening when we came back from our excursions and at least two staff members were available from 8;30 'till 10 during breakfast. I would happily stay there again.

This hotel is clean and ok, but nothing special. We booked a standard two persons-room. It was a dark room with only a small window, the beds were hard and the bathroom a little old.
The location is convenient, close to the centre of Bruges and free parking 700m away.
The biggest disadvantage of this hotel is the noisyness, I was once woken up by people passing our room and once by a couple having sex.
Sleeping in is not really possible if you don't want to miss the breakfast, which is only available untill 10am.
The whole place in general is a little damp, they should open a window more often.
Staff is really friendly. There is no wifi, but you can find that for free in the city centre.

Situated down a quiet side street only 10 mins walk from the city centre, Hotel Montovani was a great find. It was very competitively priced and communications prior to stay from Vicky were helpful and informative.
We had 2 rooms on the ground floor (3 & 4) which were both spacious, comfortable and very clean.
The hotel has limited reception hours, Vicky e mailed our front door code which gained us entry around a week prior to our stay.
The hotel is ideally situated away from the noise and bustle of the city centre but within easy reach - ideal for us with our twin boys.
Breakfast was very good with lovely fresh bread and rolls each morning along with the usual's for a continental breakfast, served in a bright and airy conservatory to the rear of the hotel in its small courtyard garden. The garden was lovely to sit out in the evening with a beer and relax after a hard days sightseeing.
All in all, great for a budget break, thanks to Vicky and Team for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: Rooms 3 and 4 were great, especially for a family group

You can find this hotel just 5 min walk from historical city center. Reception isn't open after 7pm but you can send a text message with estimated time of your arrival to ensure that there will be someone taking your check in. The hotel itself is a family run hotel with kids playing computer at the reception but that's ok because it sure is a quiet small hotel. No free wifi. Actually wifi is really overpriced. Rooms were clean, a bit old fashioned. Price includes breakfast. Hotel reception spoke English and was really friendly and helpful. It was a bit expensive but you can't find anything cheaper from this part of the city.

Yeah... As title :)

But the place is close to the Central Market and not too close that you feel like being too "crowded".

Room is clean and towels are provided but things are a bit old. No reception service after 7pm and the street can be a bit too quiet for any single to walk alone.

Good for overnight stay.

So we arrived having requested a twin room, as we were friends sharing, this was fine until we checked in to discover that the door was frosted glass and didn't leave much to the imagination!! There was a serious lack of customer service!! Reception was only open for 4 hours a day with no one to contact outside those hours. We had a few small issues ( like needing a corkscrew) at 6pm at night but the reception was closed!! Essentially there was no service, you could easily spend you're entire stay and never meet a staff member!! Wifi was charged for at a ridiculous rate and could only be obtained from reception which was never opened. I would not recommend!!
