“New, modern and fresh”

Modern, newly refurbed apartments that are very classy/ minimalist. Good size and non intrusive set up by owners.
Stayed here with my family, 3 kids. Literally 4 mins from Market Sq and Belfry etc so well located.

Would be 5 star but unfortunately the noise from the all night bar opposite kept us awake most of the nights (2) we stayed here, not the music so much but the shouts from the revellers.

We are 4 friends and a baby, who have visited Brugge several times before and know our way around. We stayed in the 3 bed, Metal, apartment. There are lots of really positive features to this apartment, but some concerning flaws too.

The apartment is very large, great tv room, well stocked kitchen, small outside space and excellent interior design. There is free wifi, a blue ray player, an ipod dock and cable tv. It is on the ground floor, which suited us with baby, however there is a lift. The layout was also good; bathrooms at one end, bedrooms at the other. The organisation of our trip was excellent- codes for everything in advance, requests met etc... The location in terms of centrality is very good - one block north of the main square. It was easy to locate on foot, but a nightmare to drive to. We ended up parking out of town a little instead.

On the down side, the apartments are clearly very new and a number of jobs need to be finished... For example, a hole in the wall with live electric wires at grabbing height (!) is a law suit waiting to happen. Also, there appears to be a serious fly problem in the bathrooms. Despite wiping all surfaces and using bug spray on several occasions, there were literally hundreds of little tiny dead flies every hour. Worst though, was the nearby late night seedy bar/night club, which opened at 3am and closed several hours later. Drunken revellers using the urinals and smoking right outside our bedroom windows from 3-8am was not very pleasant. This was Saturday night though and on Sunday night, although it was open, it was much quieter. We live in central London, but didn't think the numerous illegal matters going on right outside were acceptable. Clearly, this is not the fault of the hotel management; something to be aware of if you either cannot put up with street/city noise or have small children/ impressionable teenagers!

Overall, a few finishing touches/addressing minor issues could help to make this a reasonable choice for a family/group of friends.

My wife found this as an alternative to a hotel as we have 3 children so it can be tricky finding a place that you are not all squashed into.
Whilst the location takes a bit of searching, for the novice the centre of Brugge is an absolute maze, sat nav will get you to within 100 m and then it is down to old fashioned tracking skills, it is worth it when you get inside.
Once in our apartment was really well designed and fitted out in the chosen element of Metal.
Very stylish with loads of space and 3 bedrooms a big lounge as well as a massive dining area and kitchen.
The new conversion was well thought out and offered the perfect space for us for a few days. When we weren't out and about exploring the big TV with cable and DVD player kept the kids busy and if they needed to let off steam then they could play with a tennis ball in the street outside quite safely as it was a windy road which forced what little traffic there was to go slow.

Parking is a nightmare so do use the official Parking around the corner which was cheap and easy but make sure you have a map as the route back is not direct.

As requested We left a few suggestions as to how the apartment could be improved but they were finishing touches rather than fundamental issues.

Overall the whole set up, organisation and experience were very good, this has clearly been designed by professionals who know their Market and have invested to meet the demands of visitors who want a bit more space than hotels offer but without compromising on quality. In my experience the general level of furnishing is well above the average hotel.

I marked sleep quality down as our ground floor room did face a square with a bar which seemed to attract some noisier revellers and seemed to be open into the early hours, when the drinkers left each night they did not leave quietly or quickly.

We will be back but will stay higher up the building next time.

Room Tip: Our apartment was ground floor which meant we got a bit of street nose from the bars and cars, next...
