Fantastic find, great location, very clean, great breakfast served in a sunny breakfast room. Ronny the owner was so friendly and helpful with a good sense of humour! Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend.

We have just come back from a midweek break and stayed at the Anselemus's. What a wondeful hotel and fantastic location. We were given a map on arrival with all the main walks and attractions which was so useful. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very well decorated. We had a ground floor room which was ideal. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the centre. I would recommend a boat ride 7euro, this takes you on a historical journey through the canals and you will hopefully see the laziest dog in Bruges. This is a labrador who sleeps on a cushion which is poking out of a window, we walked past this house which is on the canal different times of the day and he was always there in the sunshine. The horse and carriage ride is pricey and you are expected to tip as well but if there are four of you it's not too bad.

We will certainly visit Bruges again and the lovely Anselmus's hotel.

Other reviewers have it right when they write about the Anselmus's central location and friendly hosts. Squeakily clean accommodation, tasteful ambience, copious, tasty breakfasts and (for us) a cosy, quiet street-level room. What's not to like? Note that B&B is the only food they do but Brugge is replete with places to eat. We would thoroughly recommend the Anselmus as a base in Brugge. Some tips for Brugge, though: 1 Choose sturdy footwear to cope with the ubiquitous cobbles; 2 Take the 2 euro bus (any marked "Centrum") from outside the station to the Markt from where the Anselmus is a 3 minute walk; 3 Leave the wheeled suitcase at home or else the cobbles will destroy it!

Room Tip: Room 2 is on street level, just a couple of steps up. Also rm 2 is on the same level as the breakfas...

A great hotel that's only a few minutes walk from the centre of town down a quiet back street. The free breakfast was very good every morning (plenty of options) and the Hotelier was always on hand with useful suggestions on places to eat, drink or shop whenever we needed him. The decor is very charming and whenever we decide to come back to Bruges I'm certain we'll be staying here again.

Having never been to Brugge before we booked this hotel from The Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't disappointed. Its a great little hotel full of character in a central location, very clean, lovely rooms (we had a triple on the top floor) and a great breakfast. The only thing to be wary of is the steep staircases, which seemed to be typical of Brugge. The hotel was perfect for our 3 night stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you are shaky on your pins

This is probably the cleanest, prettiest hotel we have stayed in. Very large comfortable room on the ground floor overlooking the road, did not hear any noise from the outside world!Breakfast plentiful and served in a lovely room. the owners were friendly but unobtrusive. All in all we would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here two years ago and loved the tranquility of hotel. It was just the same this time around. Clean room, nicely decorated. Very friendly hosts with lovely dry humour. We took the car this time and used the hotel car parking facilities, secure lock up garage a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was very good continental style with lots of choice. Location is excellent as only a 5 minute walk to the main square, but still in a quiet road
