“Loved every moment at this hotel”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

We had three nights here in October and were very pleased with the reception on arrival and Executive Double we received. On first floor and close to a lift and stairs. Not a huge room, probably due to the size of the bed...excellent and very comfortable. The room is well equipped for short stay , with an excellent bathroom with both separate shower and bath areas. Huge bathroom mirror and room well lit. Excellent selection of L'Ocitane toiletries are supplied. It was also nice to be able to make tea or coffee in the room and enjoy the tranquility. The hotel is also located only minutes from the two main squares in Brugge and is surrounded by restaurants plus is less than five minutes from the waterways. Buffet breakfast is also good and is in a very pleasant restaurant with a view to an open garden courtyard. The staff are excellent and very helpful.

We just spent the weekend in this lovely hotel right in the centre of Bruges.
It has everything you could ask for from a 4 star hotel.. from it's nicely decorated rooms, friendly staff, and superb breakfast, I would highly recommend this absolute jewel right in the heart of amazing Bruges.

A bit of context: My friend had his wallet stolen on the train from Brussels to Brugge. We arrive at 11 am well before normal check in. The front desk helped him for over 3 hours to get the correct phone numbers for the credit cards and police stations along the way (don't assume the numbers your credit card companies give you will work in Europe). Then we checked in. We needed a good room after that. They delivered. It's a beautiful hotel (they also own the hotel down the street). The room was very large with a great bathroom and great pillows and a great sign of relief. The breakfast was also great but the first morning they were a little short handed. The second day the breakfast was perfect. A bit about the hotel. As far as I can tell, these were two large merchant houses joined together and turned into a hotel. On our floor, the 3rd floor, there were exposed beams and wonderful seating areas around the common areas. We would definately stay here again. About the locations....a 3 minute walk from the first major square in Brugge.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September and had a peaceful and relaxing stay. Asked for a quiet room and were happily given a "garden" room overlooking courtyard garden - very nice. Very traditional and beautifully renovated hotel. Our room was everything we could ask for including tea/coffee making facilities (vital) and first class bathroom. Receptionists were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast in the Orangerie was very peaceful and plenty of variety for everyone. Staff were very professional and polite. Hotel was only a few minutes away from the Town square. Only gave it 4 stars because it didn't offer an evening meal as most "city" hotels don't but it would have been the icing on the cake if it had have done so. Would definitely recommend to other travellers and would book there if we return to Bruges at any time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back because as previous travellers noted, the streets are very narrow and opp...

On arrival at the hotel we were happy to be advised that we had been upgraded from an executive room to a superior room. Our room was very nice with high ceilings and very spacious. The hotel had a relaxed feel about it and the staff seemed helpful enough. The breakfast was good enough for what we needed. It was scrambled egg, sausages and bacon as a cooked option or cold meats, smoked salmon, yoghurts, cereals and fruit salad as the cold options. We found the location to be good. Not far from all the main sights. The only real negative points i would say are that the view from our bedroom was onto the main street with the youth hostel opposite. It did get a little noisy during the night but we found it bearable. Would recommend the hotel for a short stay based on our experience.

We spent 2 nights in a standard room. Our room was at the back of the property in the new section and looked over a quiet court yard. There are only stairs to the upstairs section, the receptionist helped carry up our luggage. The staff were very professional. Our room was a good size with a large bathroom with the shower over the bath. The room had a split system air conditioner that worked well, the only downfall was the free wifi was so slow or dropped out so I wouldn't bother. The hotel has beautiful sitting rooms to sit and read and a good sauna in the basement. There was a good selection for breakfast but the staff didn't clear the dishes until you left so we ate breakfast with dishes on the table. There are restaurants and a basic supermarket in the same street. The hotel is 2 minutes to the market square.

Room Tip: Very quiet rooms at the back in the new section.
